At 10 weeks Gidge is 5.5kg, vet said that's a good weight for him not sure if he should be more.

Bubba is just 11 weeks old and weighs 10kg. It was only just over a week ago I was carrying him upstairs...That is now starting to feel like hard work.

Oh...and his paws are HUGE ;)

Sparky is now 61.2 lbs at 27 weeks! I thought his weight gain would have slowed with less food and treats this week and more walks. Still gaining about 3 lbs a week. I'm surprised I can still pick him up. I did get an idea though. I'm gonna train him to stand on my feet while I'm on the scale!

We have just got our 9 month black lab weighed and hes 30.8kg is that a lot or about right? I know it will vary around a lot of different things ie; parents size, weather hes a working dog or not. Hes not a working dog just the regular family dog, he doesnt get tip bit, only has some sausage when trainning and he has his rawhide chews but there s not much in them.

Do you happen to know how heavy his dad is? My puppy is about 27 kgs now at almost 7 months. His dad is 80 lbs (36 kg) according to the breeder. But people say it's better for the dog not to be overweight.

I'd say it's quite heavy for a 9 month old Lab.

How tall is he? Unless he is very tall, then take a good look at his body condition to make sure that he isn't overweight.

I have show line Labs, which are supposedly more substantial than working line Labs. My entire boy, at 22.25 inches and 3.5 years old, is 28kgs. My girl at 9 months is 21kgs.

I've learned that there isn't an answer to this question! There really isn't a "right" weight for a Labrador - this thread shows that beyond any doubt. My boy is huge - at 9 months he was about 35kg - but he has never been fat, he is just a very big dog. Other labs on this forum are half his weight, and not skinny.
Instead of going by weight, go by his shape. You should be able to see his waist from above, see a nice tucked up belly from the side, and you should be able to feel his ribs "as if under a blanket, not a duvet and not a sheet".
How does he measure up against these tests?

Weight can vary so much. My Axel was 40.1kg at 9 months old but he's quite tall and has a huge Dad.

I stopped weighing him awhile back and simply go by how he looks and feels. Much better indicator than a number.

Having met Pongo in the fur so to speak...I can vouch for the fact that although Pongo is enormous, he is a terrific shape, very fit and muscular with a nice tuck up around his waist. :)

I am worried our puppy is going to be a big boy after reading many pages of this thread.

Lumi is a male English Lab, both parents were avg size(shorter than American Labs but stockier build)... he was 11lbs/5kg at 7.5weeks... at 21weeks he is 57lbs/26kg and just over 20"/51cm at withers. He was significantly heavier than the predicted avg all throughout his weeks. I would need to consult the vet to get missing data points that they have documented, but I do not. He has a real blocky build, but is still lean.

I read that at 22weeks they are roughly 60% of adult weight and 75% of adult height and he has another week of growth to get there. Yikes.

Marley is 14 weeks tomorrow and weighs around 12 kg he is a chunky lab at 8 weeks he weighed 3.7 kg he burns a lot of energy running round with my 9yr old son who has adhd so think he not going to have such fast weight gain as a pup who gets lots of time to sleep our last lab arnie weighed 39kg full grown (all muscle) was proper chunky lab with nice big head

Just weighed Duggan again. Today is his 8 (25 week) month birthday and he weighs 74lbs. Or 34 kg. Wowzers. He'd been filling out but I didn't think he was that much. Only another 8 months till he stops growing. Thinking we got an 80 pounder (36kg)

Took Xena in for her fortnightly weigh and she's 19.9 kg. So close to breaking that 20 kg barrier! Agh! She's a few days shy of 9 months. I'll measure her height today and update the other post.

Poppy is 6kg at 8 weeks. Is there a chart somewhere? I remember seeing a growth chart of all members plotted on somewhere but can't find it now.

Wow, seeing a lot of really big Labs listed here. My little guy is kind of, well... little. He weighs 13lbs at 11 weeks. His father was muscular with almost zero fat. The mother was on the smaller side. He takes after his father. Im fine with it. I really dont want a huge Lab something around 60lbs is what Im hoping for.

Welcome BuddysRick to the forum. Your puppy sounds normal to me. Have you a photo for us of your pup, it would be lovely to see him. What is his name?
