I'm pleased you can stay with her while she is sedated and when she wakes up. I don't know why it isn't the standard. When Snowie had his eye stitched closed just over a week ago, the vet had no issues with my staying in the room and stroking Snowie while he was being worked on. And of course we were there when he woke up. It just seems the kindest thing to do, to be able to comfort your pet under these circumstances. Best of luck for Friday!

Thank you. I think I'm the one who's going to struggle with leaving her!

Thank you Rosie. I'm sat on my cuddle chair with Harley snuggled up to me . I don't think I will be this calm in the morning! I know she's going to keep pestering for breakfast, but she isn't allowed any!

That is just the worst part!! Yesterday when Snowie had his scan, he wasn't allowed anything from 10pm the night before. So we fed him part of his breakfast at 10pm!!! And then I didn't eat anything for breakfast either because I felt so bad for him (I was so hungry, but I think I was projecting!). Him, well, he didn't seem upset actually. We did our usual walk (which usually happens after breakfast), and when we came home, he had his usual dip in the pool, rub down with a towel, and then off to his usual sleep. We were only to take him in at 10.30am, although because the visiting vet doing the scan was late, I only took him in at 12.30 -- and felt so bad for his hungry tummy!

He did lose 1 kg!!! When we picked him up at the vet he hopped onto the scale because he knows that always gets him treats (he got many!) and I couldn't believe he'd drop a whole kg not eating breakfast. Although it was almost supper time by the time he was released from the vets.

Best of luck!!! Let us know how it went.
