An article from the BBC about Guide Dogs in London

Have to say though it's not only Guide Dogs that are at risk from being hit or frightened by cyclists - I've had a fair few near misses with Penny and as a result she now lunges for cyclists.

Yup, nightmare on the common too - and not just on the cycle paths. Charlie has a "sit to bike". ;D ;D And I call out to approaching cyclists "my dog is to the left/right/whatever" - most people look at me in bemusement as though where my dog is, is of no concern to them. It darn well should be!

You are right, they should be aware as apart from hurting a dog, they can be tipped up and hurt themselves! We have cyclists hurtling down the hill paths and I always warn them if one of my dogs is ahead and round a corner, most are grateful in this area.
