I have decided to write a training log for my 5 month old choc lab pup Woody! I would love to do do sports with woody ( perhaps agility or tracking). Please feel free to make comments, especially those who do dog sports with their dogs as i am really knew to that side of things

    So far Woody can -

    Sit
    shake hands
    hi 5
loose lead walk ( very little pulling)
Wait to be released before eating
leave it ( still working on some things to leave ::) )
Spin in a circle ( still with food lure)

We are working on stay and heel, and i have introduced clicker training and started to train him to "go to his mat"

He is toilet trained, crate trained and sleeps from 10pm - 7am

Is there anything im missing? I dont want to push him too much but he loves the training and so do i and is a very quick learner!!

    Any advice appreciated :)

How is his recall? This is really important to be solid with.
Off lead walking to heel is a good one
I also use 'touch'. When out and about, I will call 'touch' and put my hand out to my side, Harley comes running back and gets a treat for it. It's good when you want their attention, or are talking to someone and the dog needs something to do :)
