Thanks all, I'm thrilled. It's like a big gift, all wrapped up in pretty paper - 5 weeks early....

The surgeon said the bone healing was in advance of what he expected, but I wasn't counting my chickens until Greyfriars also agreed he was good to go.

He seemed to do well last time. No-one was disappointed with his progress. So I was expecting the same this time. The physio said that last time, he did well. This time, it was incredible.

I feel thankful again that I had a great team of vet, surgeon, physio and hydro specialists. But I think the main reason I've got this outcome is speed in treatment. No messing about on rest and anti-inflammatories hoping it will all go away. I firmly believe that treating cruciate damage swiftly with surgery is just the best way.

Now, to send the final bill to the long suffering pet plan. Bless 'em. They have been wonderful again too.

See you on the training boards. Got a hooligan to get under control before clicker Expo! :D:D:D

So good to read that Charlie can begin normal exercise, been there, got the tee shirt, so understand how great you must be feeling.

I thought of Charlie today while out walking Mabel. I got talking to a guy who's dog has the same problem as Charlie. He was operated on many many years ago, made a brilliant recovery and is now 14 years young. It just made me realise how wonderful our dogs are.

Ah, thanks - that's good of you to let me know. :) Charlie is doing really well, and lots of dogs do well for absolutely ages and ages, so fingers crossed. I try not to think too much about how it will impact on him in future years (not too much, I hope), I just try to make sure he has fun now (as who knows what the future holds anyway?).

JulieT best philosophy to have, one I've adopted with Mabel.

A bit behind the times here, but so glad to hear Charlie's recovery is going really well. Must be such a relief for you.
