I have a bitch here with a litter of the same age. You must get her eating and drinking. What have you tried?

My bitch (with 9 pups) is on 5 meals a day of Nature's Diet and Skinners Puppy Food plus after every feed she is having Nutrolac a type of powdered goats milk. Food and fluids are essential both to keep your bitch healthy and to provide enough milk for pups of that age. I also add glucose powder to the Nutrolac. Basically anything goes in the food department - if she will eat chicken then that's what she must have.

    Hi Dogwalker

I have seen bitches get thinner while feeding pups - but that's despite eating bucket loads. They need those extra calories. If it were me I would try tempting her with some other foods (suitable ones only of course!) and get her to the vet if she doesn't perk up. Better safe than sorry.

    Good luck
