A couple of times now when we've been out for a walk, we've met the neighbours on the way who give Loki lots of fuss and he wees himself while rolling over enjoying the attention.
Today we had visitors and he was out the garden when they arrived, then when he came in he was excited i fussed him and he did a wee, bearing in mind he's not had an accident inside for a couple of weeks.
Then again this evening as I was putting his collar on and about to put his harness on, so he knew we were going out, he did it again.

Is this common behaviour in labs and do they grow out of it?

It's no big deal, lots of puppies do it - yes, they grow out of it. It's excitement wee - Betsy used to do it everytime my OH said hello to her in the morning.:D Charlie once did an excitement wee on my neighbour's shoes. :D

Xena does it with her favourite people - my mum, the lady up the street, at the vet. Is it the same as submissive urination? There's an article on that on the main site :)

Seems like they always have a little left in the tank, doesn't it? :p
