What a great idea to have a celebration...I will try to hone my general knowledge and photography skills in preparation!

That would work. At a set time (party start) so everyone is online (who is going to miss it? provide your own wine and nibbles though) we start threads for fun party stuff - photo comp, video happy birthdays, labrador jokes, forum quiz...you can join whichever bits of the party you want, or try to get round everything possible in the party time...

    Yes! ;D ;D ;D

Oh gosh, though, can you imagine the next morning? When you wake up and think "I didn't really say that to Joe/Jane/Janet, did I! No, it won't have been that bad, it'll be fine". But you did! Because there it is, all written down in black and white! ;D ;D ;D

I have Fox Clocks on my Firefox browser at home - very useful to see everybody's time at a glance.

The east coast of Australia is 9 hours ahead of London. So right now it's 10.40pm Wednesday in London and 7.40am Thursday here.

9.30am Saturday in London would be 6.30pm Saturday eastern Australian time.

OK, that seems to work OK. If you look at the little national flags you should see the various times, including Australia at 7.40 (what a coincidence!). Who else do I need to add?
