No, I'm addicted now. If I don't get some for of Lab I'll just continue to be an honorary non-Lab person. Don't all good dogs have at least a little Lab in them anyway? ;)

I know. And don't think I won't take a bandana to put on Bruno when I go to see him. In the name of evening out the playing field as I clearly have a bandana-bias.

ho oh! The mastif x looks like Coco's pal Loki who's some kind of Spanish Mastif x rescue. He is blossoming in his new home. Good luck with your visit - wish we could all come ;)

Just keep on sending those suggestions, as I do believe you have that right about having the same taste in dogs!

And I am still hoping for Bruno, too. The contact at the rescue has gone quiet, but I know rescues are always overburdened so I'm hoping it's just that she's not had time to get back to me yet.

Emily, I saw this post on Facebook (the Wellington pound) and immediately thought of you. Isn't she just lovely? You'd love the ranger who runs their Facebook page, too. She has a lovely Rottie who makes regular appearances in her posts, along with an hysterical Griffon called Frog who steals every photo she's in. I don't think it'd be unreasonable to ship a dog half-way across the world, do you? :D

Aww, she's a love. Her head looks like a cantaloupe melon. And hey, I've wanted to go to New Zealand for eons. Doesn't seem unreasonable at all! :D

Well, now that Fiona @snowbunny has forced me back onto to Facebook in the name of it helping me find a dog, that's not so hard to do. :)

No, not yet. The last email was last Thursday when she said she was going to send my contact details to someone here in Germany who may be able to do a home visit. I pinged her again on Tuesday. I am getting a little antsy with no reply, but logically I know that people who volunteer in rescue are always super busy. Maybe since she knows I'm not getting to Spain for another couple of weeks, she's put me on the "non-urgent" pile, which I can understand. Still antsy though! I'll send another email tomorrow (as nicely worded as possible) as then it will have been a week with no word back.

It's a bit nerve-wracking, this puppy hunting!
