    Morning dog walk is a good time to hum tunes. Pongo and I came up with this one, following on the theme from Shadow's ode to food. Pongo says it is called "Christmas Dinner" and it goes to the tune of "Hark the Herald Angels Sing".

    Hark the Hungry Puppy Sings,
    Wondering what his dinner brings;
    Beef or turkey, whole or carved?
    He's not fussy, he's just STARVED.
    Finest lamb or basic kibble,
    Both will make my puppy dribble,
    Both will make my puppy drool,
    'Cos his tummy's NEVER full.
    Hark, the hungry puppy sings,
    Wondering what his dinner brings.

    Pongo comes and lies on my feet, I'm pretty sure it is because he thinks I am in pain and need comforting.

    Haha, fab! Although I'm a little sad we didn't get a video this time, preferably of Pongo drooling :D

    :cwl: This would be true of me, but you have a lovely voice :)

    <blush> thank you. It is less lovely when shrieking "Pongo come back here you little ****" across the fields.

    Pongo and I have been working out his version of the Twelve Days of Christmas. This is very personal to Pongo, of course.... other pups on this forum might well have other special requests, but my guess is that there will be some common ground. It would be too long to write out the whole thing, so here is how we think the last verse goes, you can figure out the rest...

    On the Twelfth Day of Christmas my humans gave to me:
    Twelve Tickled Tummies
    Eleven Games of Tuggy
    Ten Comfy Cushions
    Nine Ponds for Swimming
    Eight Cardboard Boxes
    Seven Empty Bottles
    Six Muddy Puddles
    FIVE JUICY BONES!!!!
    Four Bouncy Balls
    Three Long Walks
    Two Special Treats
    And a Roast Turkey under the Tree!

    Would your doggies agree?

    Pongo said we had to add a couple of verses to his "Hark the Hungry Puppy Sings" Christmas Dinner song, because he wanted it to have a happy ending for his forum friends. He is thoughtful like that. So here is the completed version.

    Hark the Hungry Puppy Sings,
    Wondering what his dinner brings;
    Beef or chicken, whole or carved?
    He's not fussy, he's just STARVED.
    Finest lamb or basic kibble,
    Both will make my puppy dribble,
    Both will make my puppy drool,
    'Cos his tummy's NEVER full.
    Hark, the hungry puppy sings,
    Wondering what his dinner brings.

    Pongo knows there's something up
    Because he's an observant pup.
    Little people everywhere -
    Sitting on his favourite chair!!!
    Tree indoors, but not for marking;
    Postie, parcels, lots of barking;
    Busy kitchen - looking good!
    (Usually that results in Food.)
    Hark, the Hungry Puppy Sings,
    Wondering what his dinner brings.

    Pongo stares! "What's this I see?
    Is that REALLY all for me?"
    Roasted turkey in a dish!
    Sweet potatoes! Bits of fish!
    Gravy rivers, warm and steaming!
    (Pongo thinks he must be dreaming)
    Cheese and biscuits! Ice-cream too!
    Every Pongo-wish come true.
    Happy puppy now at rest;
    Christmas Dinner is the BEST!

    I'm really soppy about Christmas, I love it all - and actually I hate it when it starts early! But at the same time, I'm in a choir and of course we've already started rehearsals for Christmas concert, so the tunes have started going round and round in my head and they sort of come out on Pongowalks.....

    Excellent! We should choose a carol (what about a version of the 12 days of Christmas?). Or maybe we should take requests.... ;)

    The only request I get when singing is to do it somewhere else!
