    Are you trying to upload an avatar? If so, email it to me (I'll PM you my email) and I'll shrink it. Other photos (other than your avatar) need to be hosted on another service, such as Flickr, Photobucket, Imgur etc - there's information in the Technical section for a couple of the different options.

    I'm trying to upload some photos but it keeps saying the file is too large. I have checked them and are well below the maximum that can be used on here. I've never had problems before as am using my iPad as I always do. Can anyone help please?

    @snowbunny ?
    Sorry I can't help Ternaya - I don't have an i-Pad and my android pictures are too mahoosive to use the upload facility.
    (although I have put in a request for an automatic re-size function on the forum at some point.........)

    All of my photos are too big but I just downloaded a free app on my phone (Samsung) to reduce the file size. I still find this quicker than uploading to a third party and copying across the link. I'm sure there would be free apps for an ipad to do the same. :)

    Hi guys

    Have tried to upload a picture of our two girls but it appears to be upside down (although it's fine on the iPad). Am I doing something wrong (am something of an IT noodle, so I probably am!). Many thanks.

    Rob

    @Rob Holden I think it happens a lot but don't remember how to fix it. Check out the technical and help thread on *Avatars*sorry can't link on phone very easily, or if still not working I am sure @snowbunny will help.

    Hi Rob, this happens if the photo is taken upside-down on whatever device you use. Many devices are then smart enough to work out which way up to display it, so, although the file is saved upside-down, you see it the right way up. It means when you upload it to the forum, though, it appears the wrong way up, which is frustrating. The easiest fix is to force it to be saved the right way up. You can do this really easily by rotating it all the way round on your iPad and then saving it before uploading.
