So I've been lurking round the forums since we found our puppy and I thought it was about time I created an account to say hello and thank you. Because, unwittingly, you've all helped me realise we're not complete failures at puppy ownership by sharing your own experiences!

We've had Scully just over a month now (and she's 3 months) and wow it's been hard. But last night she actually took herself into her crate at bed time and, despite a little bit of whining in the early hours she went back to sleep without intervention and let me sleep until it was my actual getting up time. So it feels like a turning point (fingers crossed).

My Instagram has been taken over by puppy photos so I'll leave a link if you'd like to see more of her: http://www.instagram.com/patchworkbunny

She's very sweet! I'm an avid reader of fiction so I followed your links through to your book blog too - now must read A Long Way to a Small and Angry Planet!

Everyone thinks she's cute, she even got an awww from some teenage boys in the street. I thought they were immune to such things! She loves people just as much back so we're going to have to start asking people to ignore her cuteness...especially as she's entered the "other creatures' poo is the best" phase :D

@Joy It's an excellent book! At least my main hobby is compatible with puppy watching, she's super happy to sleep against my leg whilst I read.

Wow, fabulous photographs, you've got some serious photography skills and your pup is adorable. Books and dogs, sooooo up my alley! :D

I hope we'll hear lots from you about little Scully!
