"Sir - Our dog, Bailey, is a cross between a Rottweiler and a Doberman, but looks like a Labrador. She often returns from a wet country walk caked in mud but, within an hour or two of simply lying in her bed doing nothing, her coat appears to be clean. Apparently Labradors produce a self-cleaning substance for their fur. Is this true? What is it? We have christened it labrolin, and there is a fortune to be made if someone can find a way to bottle it."

I have noticed the same phenomenon!

;D ;D ;D The mud has to go somewhere though, doesn't it? And personally, I prefer to hose it off outside! Isn't this just due to all those lovely oils in the coat? (And yet another reason not to actually bath them, unless there's a cataclysmic fox poo incident?)

I think it would be better known as rub-it-off-on-the-sofa-olin.

It appears that he also does 'Rub-off-on-the-bedsheets-olin'.

Hmmm... could you persuade him to start lying down on blank canvasses when muddy?? There could be a potential whole new income stream opening up there - Obi, the modern artist.

I prefer the 'get chucked in the bath and get hosed down olin' or puzzle prefers this one ''wipe in over the other dog in the house olin' so it makes them look like the dirty ones

Just noticed a delightful splatter pattern on the wall next to the woodburner. Am wondering what went on while I was out all day yesterday.....

I am liking this 'Labrador art' line of thinking. Could be lucrative. Or not. We'd have to test the market. Obi can do textiles and Riley can do walls and other vertical surfaces.
