    Ah, Paige - lovely pic!

I felt overwhelmed on day 2 - and I grew up with dogs! Just my mum knew what to do, and was super confident. It's very different when you are on your own, realise there are no instructions, you have no bond with the new pup, s/he is scared, wees everywhere, and seems SO fragile... but it gets wonderful very quickly!

I completely agree Julie! I'm learning to relax around Dexter now. At first I was like his shadow :-\ Now he's going outside to toilet (Woo!) and obeying certain commands (no, down, etc) we wouldn't change a thing. Can't believe we didn't get him sooner ;D

    Re: My first labrador

Hi everyone! Thanks for the kind words, great to be set up on here and to share things with you. I've been to see the litter and am pleased to say that I've put the depotsit down and will be picking Monty up in 4 weeks! ...now it's time for the family to get everything ready!!! I'm trying to upload a photo of him on here (trust me I took loads!), but I'm struggling to. Could anyone give some advise on how to do this??

    Thanks

    Mark

Thats great news Mark! I bet you're all excited. It will feel so far away until you bring him home but it will soon be here.

To upload photo's I use Photo Bucket. I think some people use Flickr.

When I've uploaded to Photo Bucket, there are usually codes on the right hand side of the photograph (HTML, URL, etc.) I use the URL link and copy and paste it into my post on here :) If you want to be sure it's worked, I preview my forum post before hand just to see if it shows up :)

    Hope that makes sense

    How exciting!

I use flickr - upload the photo to flickr, then there are instructions posted by pippa in technical help. Or you can just copy and paste in the address in the browser bar from the flickr page.

I think there are lots of other ways too.

    Re: My first labrador

Ok, I'll have to set up a Flickr account. In the mean time, I have changed my profile image so you can see him there (sorry it's very small).

I'll get on it and come back with some success hopefully!

Thanks! :) ...very proud of him!

We had the choice of two. He seemed perfectly happy with us, didn't hear a peep out of him (unlike his brother). He's looking like he'll have the same temprament as his mum (who was really nice, placid) so fingers crossed!
