I recently got a new puppy, the lady i got him from said he was half Lab, and half German Shepherd. Although i did see the parents from a distance, (mother was a yellow lab, and dad was colored the same as mine except with pointed ears) I'm not fully convinced that he is just those two breeds. I looked up some pictures of the mix and some came out to look like my puppy, but I'm still a bit unsure. He looks like a Lab despite his coloring. Can someone help me out? :-\

Hi and welcome to the forum :)
How old is puppy? Has he got a name?
It is very difficult to tell what breed he is as he is still a tiny pup. Could you ask the breeder?
Did you not meet mum or dad?

Oh, he's gorgeous. I can understand you wanting to know what he is, just so you can tell people, but for me, the one thing he is is beautiful! What's his name?

I would say there is some collie or spaniel in the mix.

He is very cute though, he looks like he wearing socks :)

Hmm I was thinking more along the lines of a heeler - if one of the parents is a german shepherd like dog.

We had out Izzy DNA tested because we were so darn curious...she was a "free to good home - cardboard box in front of the grocery store" dog....so we were very curious. We laughed at the results....but were glad we did it. ;D

Results said 1/4 curly coated retriever
    1/4 German Shephard
    1/4 Korean Jindo
    1/4 Dachshund

    She was 85 pounds!!! ;D ;D ;D

My sister's black labrador (half-brother to Bones) mated with a Dalmatian... Two of the puppies looked like Labradors with spots, and the other six had the same sort of coloring as your pup - black, with a white chest and paws with black spots. They were all gorgeous! :)
