I ordered online using the measurements and guide, but when it arrived the front piece was too large and looked too baggy underneath her chest. I phoned the company up and explained that Maisie is a small/slim working line lab and the chap said that she would need a smaller front piece. He was really good and sent a selection of sizes to try and return if not needed! I have a 20mm Small front with D ring, top is Medium and girth is Large. The small front fastenings are at maximum length. Hope that helps. It may be worth having a chat with them?
@snowbunny have you resolved this issue with the Perfect Fit suppliers yet? I'm still not sure what to do about mine.
No, I've not managed to get photos yet (and haven't used the front ring since). I'm 90% sure it's because the front section is too large. I gently pulled it around when I put them on yesterday and they gape at the front.
Yes, I'm sure I've got the same problem - I assume I'll have to buy another piece as I've been using it for a while. There is a stockist a few miles from me but they're not one of their 'specialists' so I'm not sure if it's any use going there, but I don't really want to buy any more bits over the phone.
What size bits are you using for the perfect fit harness Fiona? I am looking for a good escape proof harness for Molly and the three separate bits you need to buy are a little confusing. I have it in mind that Shadow is a lightly built field Lab like Molly. Molly weighed in at 27.5 kilos at her checkup in January. Thanks
They're both on L(top) M(front) L(girth). They both measure 67cm around the chest. The girth piece seems to fit well, but either the front, or both the front and top, are too large. All the adjusters are on their smallest settings. I'll get some photos later on so you can see, and so I can send them off to Dog Games.
Ripple's harness is exactly the same size snowbunny, I think the front piece is too big on him. Although he's from heavier built show stock he hasn't developed that shape yet and only weighs in at 23kg.

Yes, that's true. Especially Shadow, I'd imagine. I would assume that there is some overlap between the sizes, so that a small front wouldn't be on its maximum extension with no wiggle room. I'll get the photos taken and see what they suggest.
To update this, I sent them a video of W&S in their harnesses. I have to say, their customer service is excellent. She said that it does look like both harnesses are too big for them, especially over the chest area. She apologised that she would be unable to replace the pieces I have for free because of the time that has lapsed (which I wouldn't expect, anyway, especially since they are covered in Labrador hair!), but could send out two smaller top pieces and two smaller front pieces, and only charge me for the bits I need to keep. This doesn't really work for me because our outward postal service is absolutely ridiculous (our incoming service isn't exactly anything to write home about, either!) so I've asked her to send me one of each, which I'll pay up-front for and see what I need for the second dog then.
Yes, looking at the video I would say much too slack. I will get a clip for you of Casper wearing his, I really couldn't control him unless walking him on both front and back rings when has a rush to his head and starts lunging. He is 32kg of muscle!
Gosh they are slack aren't they. I have the Cozy Dog which looks pretty much the same as The Perfect Fit and I had roughly the same slackness on Charlie who is 32 kilos, it was measured accurately. Even when using it with a double end lead on the front and back rings it's still not great if he see's something interesting Sorry to say it's in a box as I found it pretty useless and didn't like the fit at all. Unlike the great service you have had from Perfect Fit I didn't even get a reply to my questions from Cozy Dog so I never recommend it.
The service has been great. I'm still not planning on using the front ring as a matter of course. I've only attached it twice since I bought them in October, and the second time was just to have a closer look at what was happening the first time. But, I may as well have a harness that fits properly. The existing parts may end up being used once they've filled out a bit.
Here is Caspers harness....40mm Harness with 74 - 93 cm girth - (L top, M front, L girth) The front piece needs tightening slightly, Casper has lost a little weight.
@snowbunny and @Beanwood , I can see from both your videos that Ripple's harness is too large on the chest, although not quite as loose as yours snowbunny. I wouldn't be able to swap mine either as it's been used too much so I'm hoping to get to a retailer to get it fitted properly and buy a smaller front piece, although our closest retailer is not one of their specialist fitters.

I have a 9 week old lab puppy, Oscar, and need to decide whether to train him with a collar or harness. There's lots of conflicting advice out there and although I've always used a collar with previous puppies, I hate it pulling on their necks until they are trained. What should I do?
Hello I purchased a perfect fit harness for Boris. The issue that decided the harness for me was attending the third dog training session he was pulling like to get in and and if this continued he would do some damage to his neck. When I first had the harness I didn't use the front ring, this meant when he pulled his front feet came off the ground and strength of pull decreased. I soon started using the front ring and found this helped. Now if walking through town or at any time I want him close and walking to heel both rings are used. For other walks the top ring is used, you do need a double clipped lead. I would recommend a harness preferably one with 2 attachment points.
