Hi and welcome from me and 2.5 year old girl, Harley . Harley is fox red, but is registered as 'yellow' for the KC. Harley is 28kg and is about 1.5kg too heavy stuff the minute - my daughter and OHs fault over Xmas as Harley had split paws so couldn't be walked far......they kept giving her treats!! Anyway, I live in the south west - Bristol.
@Snowshoe Oh, ok My profile picture has an image which is a bit lighter, so maybe the colour is a bit easier to see on there? @Naya Hello!! Aww, poor Harley Having split paws must have not been nice, hope her new year diet goes well! haha
Hi and welcome to you and gorgeously handsome Sunni. He could be my 8 month old's brother. If I ever manage to get a descent side shot of my Dexter, he would look just like your boy
hello there, Lovely to meet you and Sunni on the Forum,he is very like my boy Dexter who is 3.I live in Dubai and the agility options are very poor so I invested in my own equipment
Hi and welcome to the forum from my two, Willow and Shadow, who are 18 months old today! Wow, time flies! Both of my two are slim - especially my yellow boy Shadow who I struggle to get weight on sometimes. I've just got him to a condition I'm happy with, after him getting too skinny in November when we were travelling. I never thought it would be hard to put weight on a Labrador I often get asked what breed they are, too. I had an argument with the police once about them because they wouldn't believe they were Labs!
My Dexter's dad is a fox red and his mum very pale. Dexter is fairly dark and very slim. I'm often asked what breed he is too.
Welcome from Hattie 8 years and my rescue boy Charlie 5 years. Sunni is stunning and everything a Labrador should look like, great to see. Soooo many fat Labs where I live in Hampshire. Helen x
Ahh, lots more messages xD @Dexter Hiya Angela and Dexter Another Dexter Dubai is pretty far away, Ive never been there! Gosh, it must be very different over there in the dog world regarding sports and showing! Having your own equipment is the best though! @snowbunny Hi! 18 months, gosh, very young still! Such a relatable comment. They much have a great time travelling An argument with the police xD (the yellow boy is Shadow, fair enough!) @mandyb Oh, wow, thanks! thats great! Ill send them a message! @Newbie Lab Owner Such a nice colour Dexter has! Seems the slim labs always gets people confused xD @charlie Hi!! Haha, I think there are many fat labs everywhere xD My gran used to have a lab which she liked to keep overweight, so when she see's my dog, she will often repeat the words "poor dog". Im not sure why the breed in particular has so many overweight members... But, the fit labs certainly look the best! @Karen Hello Karen and Poppy Greetings to Germany! He is the best lad! gives 5* cuddles! @niclibrarylady Hey! Thanks The dogs in your profile look lovely too! Shiny coats, looks like theyre enjoying the Sun Wow, that was a long reply!
Hi there from Canada (west). Lovely picture of your dog! Looks great to me! Lucky you having lots of agility clubs to choose from, where I live the closest is about an hour's drive away. Otherwise I would be doing that in a flash!
Heh, yup. It was when we were driving back to the UK in November. The police had closed the motorway and all cars were being taken through a service area, everyone had their papers checked, doors etc opened to look at the contents of the vehicles. The police officer asked what kind of dogs they were. We said Labradors, and he said "No they're not". My French isn't good enough to start explaining in detail, so we just showed him their papers. He got a colleague to come and look at them, and said "They're not Labradors!".... anyway, in the end, they gave up and let us go on our way. In hindsight, they were clearly on edge due to intelligence, as it was the next day that the Paris attacks happened. Yup! It confuses a lot of people! We had Willow first (brought her home at 8 weeks) and she was named after the willow tree she loved playing under at the breeders' house. Shadow came to us at 14 weeks, and we both liked the name. It didn't seem strange to us, because we've both looked after pale horses called Shadow in the past (separately), so it wasn't until other people commented on it that it clicked that it was odd for the light one to be called Shadow
No there are plenty of agility clubs in Canada, just not in my small town which is basically in the middle of nowhere and about an hour and a half away from any bigger centre. Which is okay for most of life except for all things doggy.....
