I hope you're feeling better Ternaya. You have given Tristan a great start and hopefully he finds his forever home soon x
Ah Ternaya ,I've been keeping up with the story on Facebook, sorry I've not been around to check in with you here. Hope you are feeling better ,does a few quiet days rest make the difference or do you have to go for physio?Take it easy ,Tristan sounds just grand and well done for giving him a safe haven to get him out of the previous foster arrangement x
Everything went pear shaped from Friday onwards........the foster pulled out at the last minute! Fortunately the wonderful Kate (Beanwood) stepped in and had Tristan Sat and Sun night to give me a break as hubby was working nights and I couldn't manage 2 dogs. I really admire anyone with 2+ dogs. Anyway, Friday I had my hospital appointment.....my spinal injuries aren't going to get any better and I can only have pain management going forwards and have to expect it will get worse as I get older. This was when Kate stepped in to help. Anyway, Tristan is back with us today, but has got a foster/forever home with an older couple who have always had rescues and are really excited to have Tristan. He will be going to them on Friday as long as the homecheck goes well . I couldn't see him go into kennels for the rest of the week and will manage with the help if my dog walker and hubby. Fingers crossed for Friday x
Really sorry to hear of the problems with the new foster for Tristan but you and @Beanwood are absolute stars for keeping him safe in a home environment until a new foster/forever home could be arranged. Sorry to hear that the hospital appointment was so disappointing. Living with pain is so tiring, even with pain relief. Look after yourself x
Sorry about your back Naya, that is horrible. You are really brave doing the foster work - and well done Kate and Marcus.
Sorry to hear about your back and the long term prognosis. Brilliant work from Kate and Marcus as always. Hope things work out for Tristan as he looks to be such a lovely boy, hope he finds his own sofa really soon. xxx
So sorry Ternaya , re your back, but truly , you and Kate have been stars, helping these dogs , very well done to all of you
Update :- Tristan went to his forever home on Friday 12th Feb. He has settled in really well and the family adore him. I get emails once a week with photos and an overview of what he's been up to. When he left we gave him a few toys that he loved - one was a giant pink ball Apparently he has slept with his head on it nearly every day since he left us . The family is a gentleman who took retirement early and his wife who works part time. His daughters are older (ones a teacher, the other is in uni). They all adore him and we have been liasing regarding what we had taught him, what commands he responds to etc. I'm really happy that they are continuing his training and that they clearly love him already We are going to keep in contact via email and the family have said it would be nice to meet over the summer sometime I'm so glad that he has settled so well. It has been very quiet here since he's been gone.....but Harley has been very cuddly
Oh dear sorry to hear this, hope you are feeling better today @Naya. Fingers crossed Tristan will be happy in his forever home, I'm sure he will. Big hugs x
How wonderful that Tristan has found his forever home and has settled well and that you are getting regular updates on how he is settling and training. Hope your back is better now @Naya
Very happy to read this Ternaya, really hope Tristan has a great time with his new family who obviously adore him. Well done you for fostering him. I really hope we get some photo's and updates. xx
