Mouse-mas Eve, good one. :) You be careful driving tomorrow when you pick him up. Don't let all that excitement distract you from the road. :)

Good luck for tomorrow and have a safe journey. x

There was a Golden Retriever called Mouse at the training class I used to go to, he was a failed guide dog pup but so gorgeous!

Ah, surely not failed. Surely just "re-evaluating his career choices".

I was told once that there's no such thing as failure, just "deferred success" :D :D :D

Oh, I have to comment. Our friend was a Conservation Officer (game warden) and he was paired with a failed seeing eye dog, a yellow Lab, when she was given up because she had SO MUCH energy it was felt she would be too much for a blind person to handle. She became our area's first Detector Dog. They trained with our Ontario Provincial Police and the things they accomplished were amazing. She was trained in scent discrimination on various ammunitions that might be used in hunting, frozen and fresh fish, game birds and other hunted animals. A couple of times she helped out when there was not an OPP dog available and once tracked two young break and enters to their hiding spot under mounds of hay in the barn of the B and E house. It's said such a dog's work in one hour is worth hours upon hours of man work. She was such a success when she got into the job she was suited for. She'd probably have been too much for the average pet owner to handle
