Thanks, I can definitely recommend it Mags if you do get the chance. Both Hattie and I are finding it so rewarding, even though it's tough especially on Wednesday when a lady I am very fond of took my hand and told me her Consultant has given her 3 - 6 months to live, I had to choke back the tears and know that one day I will walk in and she will no longer be there x
It must be heartbreaking for you now that you have become fond of someone and you are told she only has up to 6 months to live. However, she could tell you and that must have been such a help, rather than keep it bottled up with no one to listen. You will be a great comfort to her.
Haave just been back and found your photos, it is an excellent one you took of Hattie and you look very lovely. I can see you are a great joy to the patients.
That is a lovely photo of you both Helen! Not sure we have ever seen you before You are both doing a valuable job. It might get tough but it will be rewarding x
You are all too kind but "you should have gone to Spec Savers" xx Glad you like the photo's, Thomas my youngest son took them, I think he's getting pretty good now! xx
So smart Hattie and you don't scrub up to badly either Helen in your uniforms . It must be very difficult for you and impossible not too get close to the patients but you and hattie must be making such a difference to the mundane day to day of being stuck in a hospice and giving them something to look forward to and smile about.
Lovely pics and smiling faces You're doing a wonderful job and I'm sure are the highlight of the week for many of the residents. Such a great thing to do. I bet the grumpy old men secretly enjoy having something new to grump about
Thanks Rachael, you wouldn't believe what a hard time the grumpy men give me every week. "Oh that dog will be bringing in diseases, this isn't the place for dogs, don't bring it near me" I have explained so have the staff that Hattie has had all her jabs is flea/tick treated and I even brush her teeth, but no way they won't have it, so every week I smile nicely and ask them would they like to see Hattie, they say "NO" and I say "OK that's fine" and smile again. What can you do!
At least the grumpy men are in the minority, the rest of the patients adore you both. It probably still takes their minds off their other problems
How could a grumpy anyone not feel uplifted by a visit from you lovely two? You will win them over for sure xxx Helen,we don't see enough of your dogs but we definitely don't see enough of you ,these are lovely photos xxxx

@charlie lovely to see you and Hattie ready for work Shame about the grumpy old men but don't let them spoil your visits. It's clear from your updates that you enjoy the visits, as does Hattie, and you bring alot of enjoyment for the other residents.
