Fantastic walk with Coco this morning. We went to a plantation, we did lots for recall practice, we did some stop-whistle training - all successful. We met a couple of dogs (Border Collie & terrier-type), on lead and greeted them appropriately. Then we sat on the prom for 10 minutes doing C&T for looking at dogs - very valuable training. When we got home, I opened the boot and Coco thought he saw a cat, leaped out & bolted, I automatically grabbed for the lead, which went through my hand/fingers. I now have either a broken finger or a horribly sprained middle finger. Ouch!! Fortunately I work in a GP's surgery and I have Tramadol and have been strapped. Coco is usually OK for staying in the car until I say, but I think I will fasten him in from now on..He did come back to recall, after checking all the gardens in the cul-de-sac.
What a freaky accident. Hope your finger heals up soon. It's not the one you need for bad drivers, is it?
That has happened to me, dog suddenly saw cat and leaps out of back of car. Another time, German Pointer lunged at a dummy and broke my finger, the doctor said it was fractured like a crisp, the nurse said I was a "brave old thing" (this was several years ago when I thought I was young!) I told her 'more of the lady and less of the old'
Oh dear Sue - hope it heals up quickly. You must rest it. No dishes. No cleaning. No housework. Really important
Ouch, surprising how easily such things happen. I hope it soon heals but guess it will take sometime.
did this with my fingers dislocated them really does hurt it took a while. Be careful and don't let it get cold that really hurts. My OH "helps" me when I hurt myself.(another story) last time I broke my collar bone he did my hair you should of seen me he tortured me scrubbed my head and did the most strange hair styles from the shampoo foam the combed my hair as if I was a large shaggy pony. He had great fun I'm plotting my revenge
Lol! know the feeling, I fell off the steps while decorating about 3yrs ago, broke shoulder joint in 3 places! couldn't do anything for months, so hubby washed my hair, talk about almost being drowned, but I was grateful it was kept clean. He cooked too and I got sick of every other dinner being pork chops and mashed swede & cabbage, its become a family joke now. But he kept me fed and clean and.....he did the ironing....much better than I ever do.
And regular intake of tea ,chocolate and wine at time appropriate intervals throughout the day.. Feel better soon,I've had a few near misses which could have given me a similar injury ,I can imagine it's really sore x
