    Just a quick story.

Last night we ate Mexican take out in the family room, watching TV (Brit, Mr Selfridge I think). I went into the wood shop, and my wife went into her office. I heard a loud noise which I first thought was Cooper banging the shop door, but NO!!

When I came back into the family room, the coffee table (which was actually a cut down writing desk) was upside down on the floor. One broken wine glass, one broken pint, and a 1/2 bottle of Cab soaking into the Oriental carpet. Cooper was already headed for the dog door and looked chagrined. As near as we can figure she must have been Hoovering up a Taco chip under the table, and stood up. Seems odd, but I don't think she could knocked it over by jumping on it. Tilly was just lying in the hallway calmly observing the mayhem. I didn't yell at Cooper or even look cross at her. (Partly because I didn't realize what had happened initially.) Never-the-less she stayed away from me for about 30 minutes. I called her because I wanted to be sure she hadn't been cut on the glass which was everywhere, but she must have stayed on the other side of the table and did not get any cuts.

Even a pretty well behaved pup can cause lots of destruction without even trying.

Oh poor girl, she probably gave herself a fright! No doubt that's why she was out of sorts.

    Hope your rug is ok!

It was a tribal rug with big abstract patterns and I think I got most all the wine out of it. I would be a lot more upset if she had done the same thing in our living room. The carpet cost a lot more, and the table has a very heavy glass top.

One of the first Lab handbooks I read years ago, suggest that Lab owners should have a high tolerance for dirt. That they weren't recommended for folks who were too "House Proud" We have always joked about naming the dust bunnies.

Cooper was fine later on, but it took some dog biscuits and several slices of salami to get her to come into the kitchen with me.

Poor doggie! I bet she will be crossing Mexican off her list now...

I'm sure the salami helped :)

Shadow did a similar thing the other day. He was munching on a tripe strip on his bed, which he had dragged next to our glass coffee table. He decided to take a break from eating and give it a good rolling on instead. As he was getting into it, his feet ended up underneath the table and he pushed up. Cue the table tipping and everything clattering off it. He completely spooked himself from the noise. I just laughed at him. Sorry, Shadow :wasntme:

I doubt that she will cross off Mexican ;), but hopefully she will cross off raising up under the coffee table. She is a BIG pup. Pushing 80# now.
