Hello, Everyone ... My 5 month old male Labrador puppy has problem of fur falling .. I mean not more but when you lift up him on your lap, his many tiny furs get stick to the cloth. I wanted to ask is this a because of some health issue or it is normal? Thanks in Advance
Hi and welcome to the forum What you are describing is normal, so don't worry All dogs shed fur ('shedding' is the term for what you are describing). Labradors tend to shed a bit of fur every day, but usually two times a year this will increase a lot. This increase is because they are changing their coat from a lighter coat to a warmer, thicker coat (before winter) and then back again to a lighter coat (before summer). If you ever notice bald patches developing anywhere on your dog where there should be fur then this is not normal and you should see the vet.
I'm afraid "fur falling" will be the norm in your life...I'm sure all of us take half our dogs around with us wherever we go, in the form of fur....
Yes, pretty normal. That is why they make vacuum cleaners with names like "Animal". Specially for our fur balls. Yet to come across the "Dyson Labrador" though. Welcome to the forum @Sheetal Maurya
Hi Sheetal, Welcome to you and your puppy,I find my dog sheds extra when he has been swimming...a good rub down with the towel seems to dislodge their undercoat x
Hello Sheetal! I am afraid that you will just have to get used to having labrador hair in your life.... There are even some of us on this forum who have started a game when we are on holiday or travelling to try to "plant" one of our dog's hairs in weird and wonderful places...... I am proud to say I put one of my dog's hairs on top of a glacier in Iceland last year when we were on holiday there!
