Interestingly, I read an article on the configuration of feet on Lurchers, and the author was arguing the longer, flatter feet made for better grip while running at speed. There. I used that new fact already. Who would have known it would come in handy so soon. And yes, I often do things like read articles about the paw configuration of Lurchers in my spare time. What?
