Exciting to hug a goose! Look forward to the goslings, will you keep them and if so, will you end up with hundreds of geese:thelambiesarecoming:

We have six! I haven't been able to get Photobucket to work in the last few days.

They are soooo cute! I've had a smashing few days just sitting watching them, although it's becoming a bit problematic now as I do need to do some real work!!

Photos once Photobucket sorts itself out!

Is anyone able to access another person's Photobucket to view? My username is JAYMZ15 if you can. I wonder if you can see anything. For me, the whole thing is just blank on both iPad and Chrome. It does say there are 47 photos though.

    Isn't it obvious?!! ;)

They are such fun. I could sit and watch them all day. George and Jenny are excellent first time parents too. Really attentive. So nice to watch them all together exploring.

Daddy (or Mummy, I wouldn't know) seems to be 'seeing you off' a bit!

Ha, yeah Daddy George thought I got a bit too close! He's fine though really. Less aggressive now than when she was sitting.

Edit - he did take a chunk out of one of our cats that followed me into their run the other day! That's the most aggressive I've seen him! Charlie the cat hasn't been back in since!

Mummy Jenny is a bit smaller and looks a bit scraggy and pale from sitting on the eggs for a few weeks. She looks a darn site better than she did a few days ago! We were quite worried at one point!

One of the chicks got stuck outside last night. George was getting quite stressed and the little one jaust couldn't figure out how to get up the ramp and was just sitting under it cheeping. I ended up picking him up and repositioning him so he had a straight run up into the house. Mum and dad weren't too impressed but it ended happily. We woke up extra early today worried that the little one might have died because it was out for a good few hours on its own in the cold.

Thankfully everyone was accounted for this morning!

The original idea was to sell them on and keep a couple, but I'm not sure we're going to be able to let them go! They're smashing little things!

    Hehe, hence Stacia's earlier comment:
Geese are determined to be parents and will sit every year.

See how many males you end up with in this batch.. You don't want too many males in your flock compared to the number of females. I'm not sure of the best ratio for geese but in ducks you'd want at least three females per male if you have a flock with more than one male in it. Might be able to get away with more males with geese though. Would be worth doing a bit of research about to find out. The space you have available is a factor too - more space means you can relax the rules a bit as the birds aren't living crammed together.
