So after much debate about a chocolate lab with questionable history, we decided not to get her, which was difficult! however not long after, one of the pounds ive been stalking made a post. We flew down there to meet her & came home with her! Havent yet decided her name and have no ideas. So far shes been amazing. I would say 90% potty trained. only a tiny fuss about her kennel. Lots of biting but responds to yelps. learned sit immediately, shes very smart! we were told golden lab mix. so we are guessing golden retriever lab? Here are some photos. i got one pic with my real camera before she tried to eat it
Oh my gosh, how gorgeous. Both her parents has genes for long hair and for yellow fur - both those genes (well, alleles really) are recessive and you need one copy from each parent. So not a straightforward Lab x Goldie. I'd say she's Adorable x Cutiepie.
Oh my, she is just beautiful! Any ideas on the name front? Are you thinking a human name or something different? We tried to imagine shouting the name across the park when we were trying to choose Ella's name
i did think she was a bit fluffier than the golden labs i saw online, i wonder what her mix really is! We dont know much. Accidental breeding, about 10 weeks old. She knows some manners so i feel she was with her litter a good while. Having recently lost our other dog to cancer, my emotions are going all waky. Im elated with her one second and deeply saddened / guilty the next! I am sure it will pass \ is normal. It didnt help that while i was taking her photo i used an old card i didnt know what was on it, and it was all our deeply missed girl. been such a tough year for us - cant wait to bond with this little one and start to heal.
Not so much yet! We like short names mostly not so human. Our last girl was Sassy. Some ideas, Bee, because she reminded us of honey Mabel Nala Maya
I LOVE Nala . I actually picked Nala for Ella but the OH didn't want it! The only criteria I really had was that it didn't sound silly (I din't want to be embarrassed to say her name in public) and I wanted two syllables as I thought it was easier to say. Yep, I'm an over thinker
I wanted Bessie or Megan for Molly but was overruled by the kids. I think Bea would suit her, she's adorable.
She does look very Golden Retriever and not much Yellow Lab. It is always difficult to name dogs, friend has a new Golden Retriever puppy and has called it Puffin which sounds quite sweet.
