Thank you all for the wonderful dog thoughts, and some extra books added to the reading list. Donna, huge thanks for all Dexter's thoughts. There is some really interesting thoughts here which will help the assignment along, but please feel free to add anything more you think of :D :D

Charlie says "I just can't understand why I'm not allowed to run away and do just as I please like I did in the good old days and why do I have to pay attention to that bloomin' whistle,
well most of the time ;)" x

Dexter says he has more but is going to sleep on his new bed now that his human sister has arrived with her boyfriend for the weekend :D

Juno says Charlie mustn't run away cos Hattie would be verrrryyyyy upset, and so would all his hooman family. So he must be a good boy.

cos you get lovely treats according to Juno :)

I sure they think we are noisy bossy monkeys who are good at hunting and pull on leads. We are hard to train but we get there eventually

I didn't much like my new bed and my human couldn't understand this. She kept trying different things to get me to sleep on it. Well finally she got the idea of putting in a pillow, the first pillow didn't cut it with me, it was new, expensive (yep that meaningless word again) but last night she gave me a squidgy old pillow and I loved it. A boy has his priorities and I like a squidgy soft place to lay my head on or curl up against or hang my head off. Don't know if I'll chew up the pillow, for now I'll just snuggle with it and decide later :chuckle:

Edit: I think I got carried away typing! Sorry it's so long

Hmm I'll try my best to write a story of Max's day to day life from his point of view, I'll use yesterday as an example (I usually work weekend mornings but I booked this weekend off as we took part in the Muddy Dog challenge)...

This human is still in bed! It's 9 o'clock, we're usually up at 6!! I know I'll take the duvet off her, that didn't work how about smothering her face in kisses...she's waking up, I can't control my excitement now I'm jumping around on the bed :) I dart downstairs, sit and wait for my breakfast to be delivered, why does she take so LONG?! I have to wait until told the 'okays'...food time...nom nom nom. Now mommy has her breakfast and I take a short nap on the sofa. Zzzz
11am. Somethings going on. It must be walkies time they're getting ready!!!! Now my tails going 100 miles an hour and I'm stuck to Mommy. The jingle of nannies car keys send me into over drive, I dash to the car and wait for the door to be opened. I don't like this whole being strapped in to the car either but I tolerate it cause I know we're going out.
Why do car journeys feel like a life time I'm watching everything around me until I see the park!!! I let off a little whimper. These humans take forever to let me out their too busy talking about some " beautiful view". I need to get out. NOW! I have dogs to meet and things to sniff. They unclip me and I'm off to do my business. I have to stay close to them, they don't like it if I'm far away so I stick around unless I make a friend then I play whilst all the humans stare at us laughing and smiling! Play over I'm tired and we all sit in the shade and drink some water. I drank mine I'm ready to go again. Off we go only for mommy to get side tracked by a cute fluffy puppy. Luckily there was a very pretty doggy there that I took a keen liking to but mommy told me off! I'm not allowed to do the humpy business :(
After our walk back to the car I decided to go say hello to a boy who was eating something scrumptious but he didn't give me any even with my sad puppy eyes!!! Usually I'm scared of people but I can't resist a bit of food. We head home and I get to play with my family some more in my paddling pool, I get them all wet too by rubbing myself against them to dry off, it makes them laugh too. I get massages, chin rubs and ear scratches too when they dry me which I LOVE! When they don't rub my chin properly I do it myself on their legs.
I'm too tired to do anything else now it's time to snooze on my sofa for the rest of the day whilst my humans watch TV...I only like that strange device if there's other doggies like me on it
    Maximus XD

Yesterday just to add max really surprised me. We were having an evening cuddles and I must have hit a good scratching spot on his ear because he started making some strange noises and when I stopped he'd look at me with this disappointed face! He never fails to surprise me :)

I don't know what Moo was thinking (pretty sure i might have and idea) she was at a bit of a loose end waiting for me to get back from Rorys walk and take her for her little old lady walk. She broke through the door to the stairs went upstairs stole 2 269g large chocolate easter eggs and ate them. Then having found everything she wanted on the 1st floor came back down and emptied every coat pocket of treats then found a draw string treat bag opened it and emptied it too. She was ever so pleased with herself when i got home. she'd had a great time.

Mabel's thoughts on life with a human.

Mummy mentioned to me that my very good friend Juno's mummy was researching how dogs learn, and their thoughts, so I thought I'd make a small contribution.

I know my mummy loves me so much, she even loves me more than daddy. I know this because when my legs hurt and I can't walk fast she never rushes but let's me sniff, sniff and sniff. Sometimes I have to sniff the same place a good few times. I look round and mummy is there standing on the end of the lead looking bored. I don't know why she doesn't have a good old sniff too.

When I'm playing with other dogs mummy has this slightly annoying habit of calling me to see her. Can't she see I'm busy running and chasing. Sometimes I do ignore her but not much these days as from a little place she calls a pocket a nice piece of salami or sardine or cheese appears for me to eat. Yummy.

One of my favourite things in the world is what mummy calls a clicker. She has six dotted all over the place. She is a bit forgetful. We play lovely games. I can find a ball, mat and glove when asked. I can read a few words (mummy still hasn't worked out how to post the video she will try again soon ). I can do loads of different things. As soon as I see that clicker I run and sit dead still without moving waiting for the fun to start its just soooo brilliant. Afterwards we play "find it" usually it's a nice bit of gorgeous smelling tripe or air dried fish. Still can't understand why mummy holds her nose. Then I like to sleep if I'm very lucky mummy lets me curl up on the sofa all warm and cuddly while she has a coffee otherwise I make myself comfy in my bed. I love my bed it's such a safe place, only thing is why does mummy sometimes wash the blankets. Very odd.

I'm very happy with my human mummy she even knows when I'm a bit frightened, and is trying to help me, sometimes she gets it a bit wrong. No doubt she'll improve as I get older as I'm still so young. It's my second birthday in November, last year when I was one, me and my two sisters meet up for a glorious walk. It was so nice to see them we had such fun I hadn't seen them since I was tiny tiny puppy.

It's time to finish now as I need to go and stare at my lead to remind mummy its beach time. :pull::sun:
