Glad it went ok at the vets. Hope you get a better night tonight Barbara. I'm sure you will I'm always amazed at how quick meds for upset stomachs work in dogs. Why don't humans have medicines like that ?
They'll have a little gentle trundle out for a sniff and to check their pee-mail. They've both been quite quiet today. Up and about if I get up but happy to sleep the day away too.
Glad to hear they're on the mend. Hope you have a better night tonight and normal service resumes tomorrow.
Well the dogs made it through ok. I'm slightly concerned about how little water they're taking on but I'll add some weak stock to breakfast Thank you for all your kind comments, hopefully we're all heading in the right direction.
My friends dog was really poorly with vomiting and diarrhoea a few weeks ago, there were three dogs within the area at the vets with the same thing. Nothing conclusive showed up in tests so the vets said it was probably a virus. They were all dehydrated and had rehydrating stuff to put in their water. I'm not sure if all or two of them had to have IV fluids but that was at there most poorly time. Our dogs are certainly a worry at times. I'm glad you had a better night and Obi and Riley are improving.
Yes the vet said IV was a possibility if they continue to have diarrhoea. No poos of any kind since starting treatment but they have peed this morning so we'll see
Glad all is improving Barbara. I wouldn't worry too much about their water intake just yet. I find when I've reduced my dogs' food when they have upset tummies they drink less. Also it's not exactly warm weather. Adding stock is a good idea though if your worried.
Riley is so picky he'll leave plain rice in the hopes of something better so I made up a little stock to coat the rice and get him eating. It's a bonus that it's adding a little fluid too
