I know , the photo link above has a pic of the size of the beach somewhere before today's pic ( and wasn't quick enough to get the actual swim on camera ) .

Thanks so much everyone , for being so understanding and lovely , it's been very therapeutic writing it all down ,feeling a lot better than I was so 'go raith mile Maith agaibh ' ( a thousand thank yous ) xxx

 Poor little Sam, how could anyone kick a puppy or any animal  I am so sorry you and your family had to experience the very worst in people, just awful. You are far more restrained than I would have been, I would have been 0-60 straight after them with some very harsh words. You were trying to have a lovely outing with your puppy and that happens. No wonder I prefer dogs to people. Take Sam back to the beach so that he doesn't associate it with horrible experiences, lots of treats and games to make it a really positive thing. I hope he and your children are OK. xx

What everyone else said. That. Poor Sam - and you are absolutely blameless in this.
Pongo is the most placid, gentle boy I know but he says he'd like to take those joggers behind the bike sheds and give them a right good telling off for hurting his veryveryverybest new friend Sam and how veryveryvery dare they nasty people.

    (See? Pongo can rant too)

Well done on your swimming Sam, that's brilliant. Such a shame you had to encounter such awful humans who were so cruel. I'd have been spitting bullets and and really angry too. It's diabolical how some people behave, no wonder his daughter is scared of dogs if this is how her father acts around them. Definitely report him, we are the voices for our dogs and should you have the misfortune to come accross this horrible man again and he tries something similar, you will already have a legal record of his past treatment of your lovely puppy Sam.

The daughter was a grown woman , and the father would be late 50s/early 60s ..... You'd have thought by now they would have a strategy for dealing with dogs such as not running towards the only dog and people on entire beach . Not excusing my lack of control here btw xx

Doubly appalling of them. I just don't understand some people. I know exactly what you mean about your lack of control, Sam is a puppy and still learning like my boy is. You're doing a great job with Sam's training and helping him to learn, don't let these morons make you think otherwise.

I am so sorry that a happy moment was spoiled by those stupid joggers. Try and forget them as we are all on your side and metaphorically holding your hand x

I seriously did think otherwise a few hrs ago felt so gutted and annoyed with myself , but hey I got a trainer session booked on Thursday, onwards and upwards ! . Amazingly as we arrived at the beach , there was a couple and their 21/2 yr old boy who were making their way back to car . Sam was so good , came first time he was called and got to meet the people and their wee boy , he was sooo good , no jumping , just big smile and waggy tail . The little boy was all smiles too and had a big chat with him :) .

Anyone who behaves like these people with dogs I think can be classed as weirdos with or without dodgey fluorescent clothes and all the rest. ;)

Sam is such a good boy and gaining so many positive experiences.
I'm glad you're not feeling so gutted and annoyed with yourself as you shouldn't be. :)

You may laugh, but last summer Juno was most unhappy with a woman walking towards who was wearing flappy white capri length trousers :D

Well I definitely agree with the others that those two joggers were just morons.
I guess you don't whether they may have past form.
if I were you , and you felt comfortable, I would have a chat with the Guarda on Monday. Avoid the FB thing if you can. Sometimes the FB stuff just gets out of hand. You need to protect yourself too.
Sounds like you are a bit more chilled out now x

Sam is a treasure. Sending him hugs. x
