How many weeks is Bailey now? Juno weighed in at 4.6kg at 8 weeks as well and now weighs in around the 25kg mark, which is 0.5kg more than at our vet in France.
Bear is now 10 weeks and weighed at the vets today at 9.6kg. One of the vets was in the foyer, so it was another introduction, and a good opportunity to confirm his body shape is still good.
My lab puppy must be big 8 weeks 7.5kg 10 weeks 11.1kg 12 weeks 13.5kg And he's not fat everyone who see him says how big he is and his front paws are very large too

It's amazing how fast they grow. My Axel was the smallest of the litter. At 8 weeks he was 7kg. Up until he was about 14 weeks he only gained about .8kg a week. Then he hit a growth spurt. Gained 1.8kg a week for 6 weeks! And has only just slowed down this week at 21 weeks and only gained 1kg. For awhile there every morning he looked bigger haha He is now 21 weeks and weighs 23.3kg
Took Bramble with Casper to the vets, so we weighed her...she is 21.4kg, so slowing down a bit, 6 months next Thursday. She has shot up again, almost as tall as Benson, but looks very slightly on the thin side, so will up her food slightly. I think she will be around 26kg - 27kg fully grown. I have my heart in my mouth when other dogs come over as although tall, she is still very much a puppy!
That sounds a pretty good weight to me @Beanwood . Juno was around the 21kg to 22kg mark at 7 months when she was being weighed at different vet clinics every week or so as we went through the ED diagnostic procedures.
My boy is 62-63 lbs( 28 kg) at 7 months . He's a BIG BOY you should see his paws everyone calls him big foot.
Hi everyone, I have a 15 week old golden labrador and I'm worried about his weight. He currently weighs 6.4kg or 14lbs, now I was never worried about his weight but when I was researching how much I should be feeding him I was reading about some labs his age being nearly double his weight?! He is growing really quickly and, to me at least, feels like he weighs a ton. But is he underweight or am I just panicking for nothing. When we went to the breeder to pick which dog we wanted we saw him and immediately fell in love. He was the smallest of the litter (also the most mischievous). But his mother was also quite a lean lab, so we thought maybe it's genetic. But as he is the first dog I have ever had I don't know much about them in regards to proper weight. He is fed 3 times a day (9am, 2pm and then about 5.30pm) and he gets half a cup each time. He is also walked everyday for about 20-30 mins. Is 6.4kg too light a weight for a 4 month male lab? Did your lab weigh more? Thanks
Hi @Eimhear my girl Juno was much the same weight. Slow, steady growth is good. I don't tend to worry so much about weight, which is just a number, but monitor through body condition - being able to feel the ribs with light pressure as I run my hands down Juno's sides and a discernible waist when viewed from above
@Eimhear, hi, Maisie was very light as a small pup, and still is at 2 years old....she is now 22kg having just had a bit of a final growth spurt!
All labs have different builds and different growth rates as long as he has a nice tummy tuck and can see the waist from above and feel the ribs on slight pressure as stated above then everything is fine my Axel was small until 15 weeks ish then he had a growth spurt and made up for lost time
A nice description for feeling the ribs is through a sheet, not a duvet when gliding your hands down.
Lots of really good advice. The only thing I would add apart from checking regular growth, and general health, is the amount you are feeding. I don't know what amount x3 half cups equals in grams per day vs the daily amount recommended on the back of the feed bag. Also, this also depends on whether your treats are coming out of your pups daily allowance too. Generally speaking, if the poops are smallish and firm you could (after checking recommended amounts...) increase the amount of food very slightly. If a pup suddenly produces largish, soft poops this usually means cut back a little. Our pup is nearly 6 months old and gets 2 full cups of kibble, plus x3 filled kongs per day and about 40g of treats. She is still not on the full recommended amounts recommended. If anything she is looking a bit lean. I am not too worried as she has had quite a growth spurt, but I have just upped her rations very slightly.
Hi, we were giving him some treats (pedigree) but they were sending him a bit hyper so we stopped them, he does have a kong and we probably should start using it more. I think I'll have to start upping his daily food and more treats. Thanks for all your advice.
