Periodically we need to replace Harv's toys (because he destroys them!). The latest addition was a rubber bumblebee around the size of a small football and, once he figured out that he could pick it up by its wings, Harv loved retrieving it. :)

This morning OH decided to entertain Harv for a while with said bumblebee. She picked it up by the wings and Harv watched her intently, waiting for the opportunity to race after the bumblebee and bring it back. She wound up her throwing arm and launched the bumblebee into the air at great speed. It flew across the lawn ... It flew across the garden path ... It flew over the hedge and in to the neighbour's garden!!! Poor Harv was a little confused ... How was he supposed to retrieve his new favourite toy? OH tried to explain that it was an accident brought about by the fact that she "throws like a girl" but I don't think he really understood:)

Mine always go backwards and inariably into a tree. Poor Harv, hope he got Bumblebee back quickly.

Coco sympathizes....I threw a tennis ball for him yesterday while walking in the wood - yup, it got stuck in a tree. Being a girl,I throw like a girl..It took 3 or 4 throws of a stick (the first one also got stuck)...but the ball plopped out in the end. He was totally confused

Homer gave up on my throwing years ago. Whenever we are out on the common I'll throw a ball for him he'll retrieve it the legg off to the nearest man on the field and engage him in play. The men he targets always throw better than me. Well all except my Uncle who threw the ball for Homer and it bounced off my head, this happened twice in one walk! It didn't take Homer long to figure out that my Aunt (75) had the better throw.

It's a good news, bad news scenario- the good news is that the nice neighbour has returned Harv's bumblebee, the bad news is that we only have the iPad with us on holiday and I suck at iPad photo manipulation... So please find attached an upside-down picture of Harv reunited with his bumblebee. image.jpg
