Yeah...but that's really odd - I always think girl dogs just look odd. I see them sitting down, with thiner hair on their tums and nothing to fill all that space....at least boy dogs have something going on there... Anyway. She'll be very loved, strange empty tummy or not....
Now that I know that girl dogs exist I'd consider one. Obi would definitely choose a sister over a brother. Can't wait to see the cuteness
girls do everything and think at the age of 8 weeks that they own the universe. At 13 she still does, its been a battle of wills for 13 years she's the cleverest dog ever but totally decicated to her own strange desires. I really treasure everything shes taught me but wish it was a little less of a rollercoaster ride. As a friend said" I love Midge but would never want her as my dog" and my father when he first saw her at 12 weeks said "that ones trouble take her back". she still is but i love her but she really does thinks she rules
I've always had boy dogs before, but now I love girls too. Definitely very different, but also completely lovely.
Annie is the first female dog I have had, but would have another one any day. I love my boys and she is a sweetie too.
Bramble is a good girl, she really is....has never chewed anything she shouldn't. She even has Laura Ashley cushions in her crate. I have actually seen Benson give her something he stole from the kitchen and watch with glee as she trotted into the front room with her prize. If Benson gives her stuff, then it's OK (as far as Bramble is concerned) she would never steal though.... She adores cuddles, and will curl cat like on Marcus's lap on a night time. The only hiccup we have had really was toilet training...took for ages! Just when we thought we had cracked it we had to start all over again!! The biggest difference is how sensitive she is, Benson is quite thick skinned and relaxed....not Bramble, if you just frown at her she has a mini diva fit!
Hattie is my first dog she has been as good as gold, never chewed or stolen shoes etc. but will still very ocassionally counter surf if I forget to remove something, she was a little difficult to house train but that was probably my fault. Other than that she is brilliant. Charlie is Charlie and has been difficult due to different reasons and the baggage that comes with a rescue. All the dogs I come across with 'issues' are males. I love them both so very much but I would never have a boy again x
They come in girl flavour!!! I'm amazed, in all that research you'd think I'd have noticed that! We went gundog training yesterday and the trainer was clearly a boy dog person. He said you can have a 10 out of 10 girl but some days she'll only be a 2 out of 10 and others she'll be 6. A boy that's 8 out of 10 is always 8 out of 10. Riley went on to prove him completely wrong LOL As a gross generalisation though (and if you know what you're doing and don't create problems like I have) I think it's probably true that boys are more consistent. There are always exceptions though
I do think girl dogs, on the whole, are more.. girly. Poppy definitely gets quite hormonal around her season (not surprisingly!) - sometimes she wants a lot of attention, sometimes she wants to be left alone... My boy dogs just always wanted to be right close to me, so at first I found this slight aloofness a bit alien.
My two are both so different, both with their fabulous stuff and their challenges. I would have either sex again without hesitation. Out and about, Willow is a lot easier to manage, because I don't have to worry about meeting other boy dogs, but I'm sure that's more a combination of "the dog I have" and socialisation issues with Shadow that other people wouldn't struggle with in the same way. Just you wait until you blow your first girl-belly raspberry. It'll open your eyes to the joy of tidied-away girly bits
Yup, it's true. Charlie is always, consistently, bonkers. Sometimes less bonkers than others though. Yesterday, he had a fit of bonkers because he had a new chuckit ball, and ran round in circles on the golf course for 45 minutes. No, I couldn't stop him for love, money or alternative new balls. Yes, people were waiting to play. Consistent, that's Charlie, for sure.
