How do you manage your puppy first thing in the morning? I go down, let her out and we have a short fuss then out for toilet and breakfast (and toilet again) but then I have lunches to make, children to get ready etc. Molly of course has tons of energy and either drives me crazy in the kitchen or runs around wrecking the garden. The little one would love to play with her for a while but she's to crazy at that time. By the time I've got dog time she's snoozing . I feel mean putting her back in her pen after being in there all night.

It's always better for everyone if your pup goes into her pen when you're trying to get stuff done. Maybe you could give her her breakfast in a kong wobbler or something to make it last longer and give her some stimulation while you're prepping lunches?

Thanks I'd not thought about breakfast in Kong, that could work ;)

I used to feed Jessie breakfast scattered across the lawn to keep her occupied for a bit. Then have her in and do a bit of training whilst the kids ate breakfast to keep her focused away from snatching toast! She then went in her crate whilst we got dressed and ready for school. Now, at 7 months, she has calmed down in the mornings and just fits in with us. She knows she's walked when I get home from taking the kids to school, so I think is happy to chill until then!

I get up, get my coffe cup and then I let Millie out of the crate and we go out and she do her business then we head in. I take some kibble and throw it on the floor for her to sniff up while I change her water. Then she usually go to her crate or on the sofa to snooze a bit and we usually get up at 6,30 am.

Kong Wobblers saved my sanity in the mornings :)! All meals were fed in them for many months and by the time she had raced round the garden with it she was ready for a snooze!

Tried to destroy mine...that noise! I gave it away when I ended up with two pups, it was just too much! Hehe, but very, very useful for giving you some "me" time. If you don't care too much about your skirting boards, that is :D

Agree with the Kong Wobbler for morning crazies or even just a stuffed Kong. Keeps them busy and then mine will just doze until it's walk time :)
