When Joseph and I were going to vote we saw a neighbour with his 2 year old Labrador OFF lead along the main road, he was carrying a tennis racket and no ball. The dog barked at us he clicked his fingers she cowered, licking her lips, ears back, dropping almost to the ground, looking extremely nervous. Some how I don't think he uses that racket for tennis practice. I know he rules that poor girl and uses very aversive methods, infact nasty methods as his wacking her on the nose with a stick as a tiny puppy so that she would walk on a loose lead to heel proved I hardly see him, it was bad timing this evening, feeling very upset at what I witnessed and his poor girl xx
Awful! There was a collie pup around here a while ago, the male, fairly elderly owner, carried a rolled up newspaper and used it. Very upsetting to see.
I wonder if he would like to be treated like that. It makes me quite teary to even think about it. Nasty, nasty person. If he does that in public I hate to think what goes on at home
so sorry that you have to witness this, it breaks all our hearts to see it and hear about it. If thats how he behaves in public I hate to think what goes on at home.
Such behaviour is distressing. I wonder of he has any idea of the misery that he's causing the poor dog? Does this class as cruelty? Stories like that reinforce my desire to give Holly the best life possible to try to make amends for those dogs who live such miserable lives.
I don't think he does see it as causing her distress judging by the way he carries himself as a person. He is ex army and what he says goes sort of "man". What's maybe even worse is his wife allows it, I wouldn't That's a comforting way to look at it Phil, giving our dogs the best ever life to somehow compensate for other dogs misery, but it just shouldn't be like that, I find myself continuously upset by what I have the misfortune to witness with some dog owners xx
