    Hi

Can a dog who has been treated for lungworm prevention still be at risk of catching it? Dougal has been sick a couple of times over the past 2 days. Just looked watery with grass in it but the last time there was a slug in it and I'm a bit worried now. He also had a bit of diarrhoea yesterday although has been fine today. My hubby thinks we should starve him for 24 hours but I think he is still to young to do that he is only 9 months old. Thanks for your help

I am a great believer in phoning a vet for advice if I am worried.

Thankyou I phoned them this morning and they said there was nothing to worry about because he takes Milbemax every month. He was sick again this morning but not since. He is drinking fine. We are just in from a walk and he passed something very hard so I think he might have been eating something he shouldn't have and I haven't noticed. He is a horror (but a lovely one). Thanks for your help

Pleased he is feeling better, it is a worry when they are off colour. Glad the vet could reassure you.

My dog is 5yrs old. She had Fox Lungworm 15 months ago and went on monthly Advocate. She now has Lungworm again. I'd continued do a worm count every 3 months even though I'd been told she was safe with the medicine. I'd recommend a company called Wormcount who we've used since she was 18 months old as recommended by our dog trainer.
