I am brand-new on this forum. My name is Victor Sutton and I would like to know how to repair a crooked ear on my six-month-old Labrador puppy. I would appreciate any help I can get thanks
Hi Victor and welcome to the forum. Did your puppy have an injury, or is it crooked of its own accord? Your puppy is growing quickly right now, and so it will probably right itself in time. It's apparently quite normal during teething for ears to go a bit squiffy, and your pup is around the right age for that. If it doesn't go back, is it a big deal? We all have our individual quirks that make us who we are
Thank you snowbunny for your reply. But when this puppy was given to me both ears were down and when I got him home because of my 10-year-old lab his ears cocked back in apprehensive mode. But within a week or so his left ear went down normal right ear stayed cocked. So it just concerned may because my chocolate lab has beautiful ears. If nothing can be done it's okay because I love the puppy anyway. Like you said we all are unique in our own way thank you very much.
Like I said, it's apparently pretty normal during teething, and will hopefully go back to normal afterwards. I've heard massaging can help a bit, so you might try that (and your dog will probably love it, too!), but don't be concerned if they pop back a few minutes after you finish rubbing them
Believe it or not his name is spot. He has little white specks on his back in the middle of his black hair.
Hello to you and Spot - I'm sure he's super cute, crooked ear or not. Coco has one ear that hangs differently to the other, but then he's not full Lab.
