Willow got red and irritated around her injection site when she was spayed. I think some dogs just react to either the needle or the shaving.

Beautiful Bruce with Tatze, showing how huge he is! He doesn't fit in the car crate so goes on the back seat with a harness.

Do they grow more after 8 months? I've forgotten.

    My two did :)

He's a very big boy! Tatze isn't a small Lab, either, is she?

No, she's tall for a lab.

It looks more where the needle went in, rather than a rash. I have a similar mark on my arm at the mo :)

Well, beautiful Bruce is off home on Friday - that two weeks flew by! I'm happy to report his recall is 100%. Today he came back from several children and dogs - even a lovely loopy red setter puppy. He turns on a sixpence to come back - yay!

No puppies now until Paddy comes to stay at the end of the month - the house will feel very empty!

Well done on training his recall so quickly. You'll have to give his puppy walker some tips!

No puppies for 3 weeks? What will you do with yourself......

Don't suppose you want Betsy for a bit, do you? Just 'till the end of the bitey phase....:D:D:D

Hehe, how old is Betsy now? There can't be long left of the bitey phase. I mean, she's not going to be one of those that's still bitey at 7 months, is she? Nooo..... ;)

The phase I find hardest is the widdle phase, where they just widdle on the spot, no sniffs, nothing! So, while watching them like a hawk you can't even go upstairs to get something without either carrying the pup with you or doing it while they snooze. I'm not that organised not to need to pop upstairs for this and that.

Much as I love the teenies, I'm always glad when 'normality' resumes.

JulieT - I am so addicted to these pups I've no idea what I'll do without one for three whole weeks!!

Joy - I don't know what to say to his puppy walker - it's a bit delicate really. I think I'll just say I did exactly what we were taught so maybe it's his Big Boy operation which has sorted him out. Then leave it to his supervisor to help if his recall goes backwards.

Great happy puppy recall picture - congratulations to you and Bruce! And your house looks like the perfect set up for happy dogs. I'm (again) jealous.

Bruce sure is a handsome guy. Is he a Golden/Lab cross as you mentioned most of the guide dog puppies are? He seems more "Golden-y" than "Lab-y".
