It's my dogs' second birthday today. Two years ago today, my husband and I were in the countryside, just outside Bordeaux, looking after a chateau for friends of ours, who had gone back to the UK for a wedding. Their bitch, Ruby, was in pup, but not expected to pop until a week after we'd left. Or so we thought. Our friends (thankfully!) returned on the Saturday lunchtime, and Ruby went into whelp a few hours later. A few hours later, eight wriggly worms had emerged, not without some drama along the way. After being involved in such an experience, I couldn't stop thinking about the pups, so we rang a few days later to ask if there were any available. To cut a very long story short, a few weeks later, we brought home our little girl Willow, and then a few weeks after that, Shadow came to join the family. It was all very unexpected and not well thought out in the slightest, but I couldn't be happier to have these two gorgeous dogs in my life. They have changed everything, and only for the better. Happy birthday, pupsters! They celebrated with a very large mackerel each for lunch. Their eyes nearly popped out of their heads when they saw them
Those two years have gone so quickly! It only seems five minutes ago you were writing about their birth. They have given you so much pleasure, you were obviously in the right place at the right time
A very happy birthday to two VERY lucky puppies x HaPpY BiRtHdAy WILLOW and SHADOW xxxx and Lord Lucan too xx
Happy birthday, Lucan! They had fish sticks and mince with their dinner. We also had a few scoops of pate as bed snacks. Yummers. It's a slight possibility that they may have been over-fed yesterday Hehe, I'll see what I can do We had a lovely birthday walk, somewhere new. With pine cones AND balls! And it rained! Rain is SO MUCH FUN these days
