A small white splash on the chest isn't uncommon. I've seen it in yellows and blacks for sure The white spots on the paws are they on the back of the paw? If so have a google for Bolo spots. They're a hereditary thing from a dog called Banchory Bolo (I think )
I have papers for my Lab, too. And yet I'm often asked if he's crossed with a Mastiff or Boerboel because he's heavyset. I often wonder what was put into the mix at some point to get the heavy look, although his pedigree family tree show all purebred up many generations. I was reading about a Golden Retriever breeder who introduced a Setter into her gene pool to encourage the fox red coat. Makes you wonder what exactly purebred means.
One of mine has the white stripe on the back of his forepaw, the reason why I chose him and I understand it does go back to Banchory Bolo. Not sure about Chocolates, but if blacks and yellows can, why not chocolates!
I googled "white spots on Chocolate Labs' and it is possible, but not desirable if you are showing, which I don't think you are?
My black lab BJ had a very good working KC registered pedigree. He was one of a litter of 13 His mother was yellow and the sire was black. All 13 pups were black and 4 of them, including BJ had a fine white line on the chest and white hairs round some paws. This can certainly happen with fully pedigree dogs, black and yellow so I don't see why it cant happen with chocolates too. There is fascinating information available with regards dominant colour and what can happen from a mating between different coloured dogs depending on the colour dominance.
Thank you all. Yes she is pretty and i like the white on their chests. Truthfully, i didnt care either way as I was originally going for a rescue, but when we saw these two little guys, we kind of felt it was a rescue. I will look up the Banchory Bolo just for the information. Some people can be a little rude, when you say they are chocolate labs, and then they say not really.
A few of Brambles siblings had cute white flashes on their chests, they are all pure bred black labradors. In fact look very similar to your gorgeous girl

Yes, although it's not as common as in black Labs (and who knows for yellow, since most have a lot of white bits ). It seems most often people mention white marks on the tails of chocolates, rather than the chest or feet. But definitely white markings do occur time to time in chocolates.
he is really cute. his markings sound a lot like Penny except she is chocolate. the tops of her paws have white spots.
I'm going to take a guess and say a little Bullmastiff...but I'm far from an expert so it's just a shot in the dark.
Ours has white on her chest. The older dog has a little but it kinda blends in with his coat as he a lighter in colour than she is
She's lovely. Looks like she is a cross to me by the shape of her snout. Maybe border collie. I have a friend with that sort of cross and the head is the same
