Update on Cooper: vet checked him out....his temperature was normal. She said he was totally fine, that if he was still throwing up, she would be worried but the fact that he is not eating his kibble but IS eating chicken is because he is spoiled!!! How dare she say that!!! My perfect angel Cooper!! Ha,ha! Yes, he is spoiled. She suggested I add chicken broth to his kibble to make it more tasty and to keep giving him a few pieces of chicken for the next 3 or 4 days. I must add that Cooper IS eating any treat you give him so,definitely, he is being picky re kibble!! So I am totally relieved and happy that he is totally OK. Now I hope he stays that way for a long time. I told him he has to keep being healthy!! And has to get a job to help me pay the vet bills!!! Thank you ALL for caring.
Really good news Harley goes through stages of not eating kibble........she now has BARF in the morning and kibble in the evening, but occasionally she will turn her nose up to the kibble! When this happens I usually give her some sardines or kippers. Yes, I know, she is really spoilt
What a relief! Now time to put on your "strict mum" pants...or not lol. Hope you find a meal solution that works for both of you.
Bruce was a fussy monster when he arrived. So I gave him his meal, he didn't eat it so I picked it up. No treats that day until I gave him his next meal, he ate a little then I picked it up. The next day he wolfed both meals down! He's not been fussy since. ...
You're very strong, Mags. I start off like that, but I cave in pretty soon, going OTT with eggs, chicken, porridge, fish - anything tempting. Next time..I WILL be strong!
I learned the hard way with Gavin (Cavalier). He was a fussy monster and I would tempt him with all sorts of yummy things, no wonder he turned his nose up at 'ordinary' food! Bruce is helped, of course, by two big black dogs always waiting and willing to 'help' him lol! ...
Exactly what Snowbunny says above, except Harley's is raw meat and bones pre prepared (I couldn't crush it myself)
