LOL, Oban has a rotten, gay, banana tail. Gay means carried too high, banana is the curve some have, like a banana. I add in rotten because, what colour are rotten bananas? Yep, black. It doesn't gather snow though, not still enough for that. Jet's coat had a wave all her life, Oban's is more properly straight. We are in Canada where wave is not a disqualification but all else being equal should place a dog below one with a straight coat.
It lovely he looks like a lemur when he trots in the woods. When all else fails his silly tails makes me smile
Ella is shedding at the moment (who am I kidding...when isn't she shedding ) so I find it really easy to see the two different types of hair The fluffy undercoat is what forms the tumble weeds in my house throughout the year. I only find the wiry topcoat an issue in the change of season.
Depends on what you brush them with. If you are using a furminator it tends to strip the undercoat out along with some of the top coat. And I have a comb that definitely takes the undercoat out. But some brushes just get the top coat.
My Furminator knock-off doesn't take any top hair, just undercoat, although I've heard before that they can do.
It's going back down, not completely now it sticks out to the side as it doesn't quite have the fold back yet so it could just be a teething thing. He is chewing on harder material these last few days and I never really paid attention until today when I seen him chomping away on a piece of plywood. Goofy dog, I guess I should go out and get him some hard chew bones or something to help cut the teeth in faster or to at least save my lumber from the termite that he has become.
We have some teak garden furniture that bears the scars of puppy teething! I had pretty much forgotten about it until I had to move the chairs yesterday and saw the rather rounded corners
I have generations of furniture with teeth marks they make me smile . I even have a radiator that a dog who teethed like a t rex used.
I still have Dozers' recliner and one of those over sized chairs that Stryker has made his chew toy. The recliner back legs look like a wood chuck has made it his breakfast. Thankfully the over sized chair hasn't been touched but it does have Stryker foot prints on it. No more white furniture ever or anything white for that matter.
Groundhog, marmots and wood chucks are all the same thing, I believe. Marmots are definitely not small, though
No!! wood chucks can be as large as a medium sized dog. One killed a cat in my neighborhood....cat's owner shot the wood chuck.....incredibly large......it actually ate all our planted vegetable garden!
