We thought it would be fun, and interesting, to start charting more than just weight vs age for our puppies, but to also include a bit more data, so we can start to investigate relationships and trends. You are hereby invited to take part in this research. Please read the following instructions thoroughly before participating. What you need to do is copy the following fields and complete them all in each post. If you can create a new post as regularly through your puppy's development as possible, we'll start to gather some really interesting data. Please make sure you are as accurate as possible, to maintain the integrity of the data. Height: Weight: Age: Sex: Type: Please make all heights and weights in metric measurements! If you measure in imperial, please convert to metric before posting. You can do this easily by typing, for example, "22 inches in cm", into Google. Height is made up of body and length of leg, see the top blue dot on the diagram below Weight of the dog in kg Age of the dog in weeks Type is one of: Working line, Show line, Pet Bred mainly working or Pet Bred mainly show Working line is within three generations, two FTW or FTch Show line is within three generations, two wins or champions Pet Bred is more than three generations away from multiple Field or Show winners @JulieT has kindly agreed to chart the data for us, so we can watch it as it develops. Please join in this experiment and see what we can reveal about our dogs' development.
Just to say - single measurements for adult dogs are extremely valuable! So don't think you have to be just entering a trend for a puppy. Data from everyone with a Labradors is valuable. Cross breeds can also be charted, but they will be identified as cross breeds and not included in calculations of averages - but if you want to see how your cross breed dog compares to a population of Labradors, you are very welcome to submit data.
You'd have to check for the country - in the UK, CH is a show champion that has a show working certificate.
From the Dogs Victoria website: "Only dogs on the main register can earn champion titles in the show ring, but dogs on any register can earn titles in other sports. For example Ch Prefix Dogname UDX CDX JDX ET has earned a “Utility Excellence” title in Obedience (UDX), but on his way there he would have earned a CD, CDX and UD. As a higher title is earned in each discipline, it replaces the lower title as the dog must earn the titles in a particular order. The other titles are for Agility, Jumping, and Endurance. The Ch refers to championship points earned in the show ring, so not only is this dog versatile and skilled, but he is a great example of his breed as well. If the dog in the previous example was not a pedigreed dog, he couldn’t have earned the Ch title, but if he were an associate he could still have been “Dogname UDX ADX JDX ET.”
This looks interesting! We'll go first then Truffle's measurements are as follows: Height: 18cm to point of elbow, 33cm to withers Weight: 5.45Kg Age: 12 weeks Sex: Female Type: Show line (on sire side, dam is working line, but a stocky chocolate build, and FtCHs are more than 3gens back. One of the SHCh has their working certificate too) Look forward to seeing the data from this...

See the diagram above. You get him to stand still, then you put something straight across the top of his shoulders (a straight stick of something - a ruler would do), and measure from that to the floor.
lol! We measured in the kitchen against the cupboard door - so I used a wooden spoon as it was to hand.
Would weight alone of a Canadian dog be of interest? Oban's breeder required bi-weekly (every other week) weights till he was one year old. She didn't ask for height so I only have the one year height. Oban has U.S., Canadian and U.K. dogs behind him. Oban is show bred.
