Sounds like heaven @JulieT, Mabel and I have also had a beautiful walk. You can't beat crisp, cold days and a happy playful dog. We only meet one person such a joy having miles of countryside all to ourselves
I am the least house-proud person I know, but even I am at my wits end with Pongo's current moult. The carpets are INCHES deep in dog hair. We are sweeping and hoovering every day and I swear there is more doghair on the compost heap than there is on the dog. Come on Pongo, get a grip mate!
I'm the worst Mam in the world. I forgot to get Stanley an advent calendar. Mad dash tonight to find one I think
I've just splashed out on a new vacuum that apparently specialises in dog hair. I'm hoping it helps....
Bad dog-mum here too - I didn't know you could even get advent calendars for animals..until a chap came into work this afternoon, lamenting the fact that he didn't have one, but his CAT did! Who'd have known?
No he didn't know. We make him wait in a spot that he can't see where we hide his ball. We needed to make it a bit more tricky as he was finding the ball too easily. We didn't think he would find it up the tree, but after a minute of running around sniffing he found it
Scenting the air. This morning, as I set off up the path in the woods, Coco was ever so keen on a scent off to the left. So much so that I didn't do my usual, "sit", walk away, recall routine..I walked him some distance, on the lead, until he'd lost interest. When we got back to the car, we sat a while on the tail gate, listening to the silence of the countryside. Coco was nose right up in the air - he had the scent again. I loved watching him sniff it all in, searching. I was surprised he didn't jump out of the car - he just sniffed and sniffed. The whole episode was very relaxing.
I've had so many "proud Labramum" moments over the past few weeks *pumps fist* It feels so wonderful to actually see the result of all the hours of training. Of course I've had my head in hands moments too, always at the end of a walk when I've let my guard down and BAM she's off into the bushes to snaffle something disgusting. Still, the fact that the positives are outweighing the negatives just feels so good!
Sadly Rory colitis flared up again but I realised quickly got him treatment quickly and he's ok. I really hate it but so glad me and the vet have a good plan.
Feeling guilty today as we've had a hectic day of human stuff so Ella had a bit of a rubbish, short walk and only a tiny bit of games/training. She's now giving me the most sad look from the couch and I'm sure she knows it.
