Serious my puppy and kitten fight like this! The kitten manages to wrestle the puppy to the sofa. Not sure how, it must be theatrics kitten is tiny.

We have 3 at the moment, aged Bella 4.5, Indy 3, and Kira 14 months.
I would hold back until your present pup is trained? And that is not just basic's. (good recall, walking on loose lead and off lead walking, sit and stay. etc)
You will find it will be almost impossible to train 2 pups together.

It is so tempting because pups are so lovely, but can be an absolute nightmare together.

Here are our three Bella,Indy and Kira.

When Benson was 11 months we fostered Casper, at the time Casper was 5.5 years old, we had only intended to foster him for a few weeks..but well we just couldn't let him go. Casper is now coming up to 8 years, Benson is 3 years old. They are very close and have been literally from day 1. :)

Wow, was Benson really only 11 months? It can't be that long ago! *looks at 2-and-a-half-year-old "puppies"*

Only the first 6 months are the worst and then you will forget all about it :) There is five years difference between my two and it was fine.

Are they best of friends? Does the age gap make any difference?

One of my dogs came into the house as a puppy when the oldest was 12. the old dog was calm happy and seemed to help the pup settle in. The pup would copy him and the old dog was firm but fair.I been worried it wouldn't work but it did. The old boy gave The pup so much confidence

They are good friends, but don't cuddle up together, have never had a cross word. Drift it 10 years old now and Rourke will be 5 in January, so far the age gap hasn't shown up, Drift is just as lively and fit as Rourke.

The age gap between our two boys was 8 years. I think that is was too far apart. Euan didn't like Finn, but accepted him that he was there. Euan had a half year after that Finn arrived terrible back problems. He was operated when Finn was 8 month. Euan was by then almost 9. It wasn't a success.

I think what most of the others told you that a three years gap is perfect. Finn is 3 now. My OH and I talked bout having a second lab, but with Finn's character it would not work....

Kibs is trained pretty well, still got a little croco left in him but hes good with loose lead walking and off lead walking, his recall still needs a bit of work. but overall hes pretty well trained. but yeah I think i'm gonna wait till hes about 2 - 3 to get the next one.
For now he will just have to deal with being beat up by his dog park buddies.

We missed out on the real puppy stage when we adopted Teller at a year old but mentally and physically he was still very much a puppy. Really the only milestones we skipped were housebreaking and teething and neither was missed, lol. But we got to experience all the mouthing, jumping, zooming, playfulness, lack of attention span, and general hardheadedness. He was a crazy, lanky ball of energy with overlarge paws and a giant head. My parents told me he was in serious need of OB but I insisted he knew all of his commands and it was (mostly) immaturity and being over-eager. I was (mostly) correct and in the last year (he turned 2 in August) he has matured considerably and is much better behaved.

Well, the boyfriend and I are no longer together (and still are close) and he decided he wanted a bird dog of his own and a little 'brother' for Teller. He wanted to avoid the hallmark lab shedding and opted for a Pointer. We thought 2 years was a good amount of time, especially because T had calmed down. But whenever they are together it's pure craziness... We took them camping a few weeks ago and wanted to pull our hair out. Needless to say, I am going to wait until Teller is at least 3 before I welcome another puppy into my household, lol.
