    Gorgeous Axel! How nice that he has friends to play with! They all look slightly dubious, though...o_O

    Good morning all - Mollie has just had her morning toilet trip and is now fast asleep again.

    7am on a Saturday and I'm wide awake :rolleyes::rolleyes:

    Mr Boogs is on puppy duty today so I'm looking forward to a nice long walk with Tatze :doug:

    Great progress! Maybe she'll miss out the toilet trip soon and just sleep through?!

    Enjoy your walk with Tatze. :)

    Pongo has itchy feet so I've been trying a variety of things. The latest is to wipe his feet after walks with medicated tissues (anti-fungal and so on, we'll see if it helps). Pongo finds this very tickly (and he wants to lick his feet anyway because they itch). So it is a competition between my hands and his tongue to get to the foot and in-between the pads. The only way to get his tongue out of the way is to give him one of my hands / fingers to lick at instead.

    This has turned into a routine where I wipe his foot with one hand while he sucks on my finger or thumb like a puppy. Ridiculous but quite sweet....

    When you don't really feel like going out so you use your dog as an excuse.

    "Oh I can't, I'm sorry! There's no one to watch the puppy."

    Sat eating cheese with a glass of wine. :D

    I'm on pair number two, shan't be buying Hunters again as before long I'll also be on pair number three. My daughter in law has recommended Dubarry as he friend has had the same pair for seven years. She uses them everyday for dog walking, mucking out the stables etc.

    Wellies - you should try Skellerup gumboots. They're a NZ brand (made in China now though, that makes me very cross) but I've checked and they're sold in the UK. They're fab, beloved by farmers, and worth every penny. I've had mine for a couple of years and I'm very happy with them. They've withstood mud and bog and wet fields and mountains of chicken poo.

    I go for cheap Dunlop with nice insole. The least I've paid is 8 quid the most is 15. I've tried lots of different types and the posh expensive can't do it. I take a look at the skellerups though. The dubbarys dound good too. Do you get welly rash ? I trashed my last pair of hunters in 2 months

    There are several "what pair of wellies" threads on this forum! Hunters used to be excellent but they've changed production now and are rubbish by all accounts.
    I wear my aigle parcours every day and they are good as new - I reckon I've had them two years - and fabulously comfy even on ten mile walks. But they did cost a fortune - they were a special Christmas present, I think they were about £100. Ouch.

    I've done Aigle, and Dubarrys - I stick to muck boots now. Brilliant. The neoprene tops are super comfy. They are not quite as non slip as I'd like though, but I think I could get a better sole in the same style if I searched.

    We had our Christmas party at dog training on Sunday. The lower classes had a normal training session but the higher two classes (including Ella and I - yes shock horror we're in the higher classes :p) joined up to play games. I was a little nervous as I know how easy it is to excite Ella but I decided I'd just step out if it got too much. We had so much fun!! We had different relay races where we ran into the middle, performed some sort of cue, and ran out to pass the baton (or santa hat in our case). Ella was fantastic. She was very excited but remained focussed and attentive. I can't imagine even attempting this level of excitement this time last year so it was a great to see how far we've come.

    After the games, the instructors set up a "rally-o-gility" course with some rally-obedience and agility bits and pieces for any of us to have a go. Ella was pretty useless at it but it was quite amusing :D Here she is walking over the ladder. She stepped off half way through as she seemed to think she needed to step on each rung rather than in between. Oh well :rolleyes::D
