I see lots of posts talking about dummies....what are they?!! I've worked out they're intended for training gundogs in place of real pheasants but does it look like a pheasant or what?

It's up to you. Get a good book. Find a trainer. Quit with the over excited pet ball throwing, otherwise you'll never get her steady. If you are in the UK, have a look at the Gundog Club books. Pippa wrote them.
