During the last month my sister, her family and her dogs have been at my place while we took care of my father.

One of her dogs is a 10 year old black lab and the other is a cranky 8, maybe 9, year old wiener dog.

Strykers introduction to them was Stryker barking and wanting nothing to do with them as if he was scared. Which I chalked up to being something he hasn't had much experience with other dogs.

One day the dogs were inside and my sister or brother n law called for his lab, Eddie. Well Stryker was right beside him with Eddies ear in his mouth. It wasn't the entire ear and he held it in his mouth ever so gently. Eddie didn't mind one bit. He pretty much just let Stryker nibble on him freely.

Well we also notice that Stryker was also doing that to Eddies lips. Little nibbles here and there. Stryker was also very jealous. If anybody touched Eddie he would run up growling, barking and nibbling on Eddie.

Was this an act of being dominate over Eddie or just typical play?

My boy and my sisters boy do this to each other too - usually when they are tired from playing, running around after each other and want a rest - if one is panting the other goes a nibbles at his tongue :puke:. Never any blood drawn and they seem to take turns! Love watching them do this
