It sounds great! Luna can be a little horror with settling down at night. She sleeps all evening, I get her up for her midnight wee and then she doesn't want to go back to bed, little monster. She can be at her most vocal then. Last night, I gave her a frozen Kong to shut her up, which worked, and tired her out so she fell asleep halfway through. Peace, aaaah! She's also not one of these magically toilet-trained puppies. She's getting better - much, much better - and has just started vocalising on occasion when she wants to go, rather than once she's gone and walked through it or sat in it... So I'm a bit jealous, but hope it lasts for you!
Sounds silly but I'm a little worried. An 8 week old puppy that holds her bladder for 1 to 2 hours then asks to go out and only wants to poo an hour after eating..... Is she OK I ask???!!
Yes, she's fine Most pups are widdle widdle widdlers - but some have strong bladders from day 1. The pooing is normal and shows you've got her meals the right size. ...
Many thanks for that, I,m trying hard to relax. Not easy. Lucy is just a chilled out cuddle bundle. Me? I,m a wreck........ It's the vets tomorrow morning...... Wish me luck, not for Lucy, for my nerves. She will be the star of the show.......
Fear not, it gets easier. I'm the same for the first two or three weeks, they are so tiny and feel so fragile - but they are tough little cookies in reality!
Yup Bailey was exactly the same - we would take him out after he finished eating for a wee and a poop but nope nothing...the quickest a poop ever appeared was an hour after eating, as for holding his bladder....8 hours from the first night! I know how you feel I was a wreck for the first couple of weeks - kept waking up in the night to check he was still breathing as he never did and never has woken us up in the night for a toilet break! Long may it remain so for you
So many thanks to all of you out there. Very reassuring. Perhaps I'll sleep tonight. Lucy certainly will.
