It seems we have a water baby ..... Whilst having a bath Scarlett was trying to climb in too sooooo I emptied the bath and put about an inch of warm water in for her and lifted her in she was the smallest from her litter of 9 and is quite feisty She loved the water , playing sitting digging and generally having a ball. I know most Labs love water and cant wait to take her out after her jab Tuesday ( A Week after jab )
Luna had to have a bath at the weekend. She loved it. My other two hate being bathed so it will be interesting to see if she continues to like it. Willow and Shadow adore natural water, but definitely not a bath or shower!
It's great that she likes the bath Harley loves the bath and shower. She hates the hose in the garden so it's great that she willingly goes in the shower so I can hose her off when she's really muddy.
Bailey is the same - he loves his showers and brisk towel rub afterwards. He would get in the shower with me if I let him in the bathroom - he just sits outside the door and then runs in as soon as I open the door to see if he can get in! When he has his shower he also has a rubber duck to hold in the shower, it's the only time he's allowed it so he absolutely loves it
How wonderful! I wish Snowie liked having a bath. HATES it! Loves the sea, lagoon, river, swimming pool, even a puddle. But absolutely digs in his heels if the water will spray out (shower, hose pipe). Wish I'd trained him as a puppy to like it. Now it's basically hold him in a vice grip while husband plies treats so that I can rinse him with a hose when needed. He's smelly right now but I just don't have the energy today to bath him and all the luring/treating/hanging on/necessary patience that has to go with it. And unfortunately we don't have a bath in our house (only showers).
Have you tried a watering can. I use that on mine its much more gentle they just stand and let me do it now.
I take rose off and just start gently with the feet it takes a while but it's a really slow gentle way of doing it
Molly hates being washed. The only reason I bathe her is because of her ghastly joy at fox poo squelching
Oh god I know that smell Bailey was an avid fox poo roller, but to be honest he has not done it for the past couple of months I'm hoping he has outgrown that phase!
more likely he hasn't come across any. Belle NEVER grew out of fox-poo. We moved to an island with no foxes and she went for polecat poo instead.
Our usual walk is around the rugby club grounds and there is a family of foxes that live in the hedgerow around the grounds - I must admit to not seeing as much fox poo around the grounds myself - oh damn was hopeful then....we will have to wait until the next family of baby foxes come out to play to see if he's still a roller or not . I know my old lab was a cow poo roller all her life - nothing gave her greater pleasure than rolling in a nice fresh cow pat . Not sure what is worse cow or fox??? Both are just disgusting!
That's great news for any pet parent. My last dog Sammy hated water and it gave me a pretty hard time bathing. My new little buddy seems to be taking the same trend and it is not cool at all and especially because i've always wanted them swimming as well.
Try human poo! I saw a Lab on a leash the other day on a lovely mountain path. Why? He has a penchant for rolling in human poo! At least Snowie only eats it! (Homeless people, if you're wondering.)
Willow rolled in fox poo this evening. She was covered. Not just the ruff, which is where it usually is. No, her entire back and all of one side. There was nothing for it but a bath. Ick.
