Owen (12 weeks old) got past 2 baby gates and a chair while we were gone yesterday and attacked the christmas tree (I know we should have taken it down already, but having a puppy is exhausting! ). He scraped some glitter off of a few ornaments, and a couple small ones we haven't seen yet. I am slightly concerned he has eaten the glitter, and maybe a small ornament or two. He acted completely normal after we got home. Drank and ate like he usually does and he also played like he usually does. He didn't get sleepy any earlier than he usually does. I know to keep an eye out for lethargic behavior, any change in eating, drinking, and going potty or vomiting/coughing. But is there anything else I should keep and eye out for?
You've got it covered. Hopefully he didn't eat anything untoward Looks like you need to invest in some extra tall baby gates. ...
Lol, he isn't jumping over them yet. I first used two different types of the pressure mounted gates, neither worked cause he pushed them over. Then we installed one that actually gets screwed into the wall. That holds him, except he is small enough to crawl under it. So we lean the other gate against it and use a chair on the other side of the room he is in to prevent him from pushing it out of the way. We figured out that he nudged the second gate just enough to slide through. He is extremely smart apparently. Lol, but I think we figured out a solution now. He did poop this morning and it had glitter in it as well as part of an ornament, so fingers crossed that everything passes ok.
Oh dear! Investing time in puppy-proofing your home early on pays dividends (and may save $$$) later! Hope all passes through smoothly!
Glittery poop....now thats something I've not had to pick up hope all passes through with no problems
The christmas tree was in a sectioned off room that we barely use, so nope, hasn't bothered me! And the rooms Owen has frequent access to are puppy proofed, or so we thought. He is doing good again today, so I am less worried. We both thank everyone for thinking of him!
I'm not sure if Angela would be having palpitations at the fact the Christmas tree is still up, or whether she'd think it perfectly reasonable to have already put it up for Christmas 2017? @Dexter ?
A little bit of unicorn poop this morning. And still acting completely normal! He is still being extremely energetic too. Lol, he loves being hyper. I am just so glad that nothing has happened yet, I am not entirely sure what I would have done.
